I'll Be Moving On

I have been a member of USCCA for 4 years. In that time, I participated on and off on this forum for the purpose of learning, and to hopefully add dimension and different perspectives to topics. I have benefited from the differing thoughts and wisdom of others and have received encouragement from some members, even some who often disagreed with me (I won’t name them for fear of diminishing their status in the community for having said something positive about me). What I have experienced, however, has been intolerance, hostility, and have had my words manipulated into something I did not say simply so that they could be disparaged. So, I searched for and found another gun owners community, where the same topic that here devolved into acrimony and disparaging comments, was discussed thoughtfully, rationally, and without accusations. I will be migrating to this community because participating here has simply become too unpleasant. Thus I will be stepping out of the way of the handful few in their effort to make this site a group think echo chamber and castigate anyone who doesn’t sufficiently hate the left or deviates from acceptable thinking. The thoughtful voices I’d love to hear are too often drowned out by a handful of ill-informed rants from members who seem to get their information only from sources that tell them what they want to hear, rage posts, and what sure read like drunken ramblings. My thanks to those that I have benefited from, and to all best wishes. Cue the good riddance responses.

I hesitate to comment on this - one will note I rarely comment on anything not self-defense, new products, or gunsmithing related. I do enjoy the memes :+1:

With that said, many that I consider useful posters have left this forum. I also have abandoned numerous forums over the years. I nor the posters I did not name just left without fanfare.

Correct or not, these type of posts always seem like a need to affirm based on votes whether you should stay or you should go. For me, staying or leaving is based on my personal enjoyment of it and when I leave, I’m just gone. If you are not enjoying this forum, just quit reading and posting?

BTW, I don’t remember a specific post, but I recognize your name which means I have appreciated your self-defense and firearm related posts :+1:

Too many good folks saying goodbye. Outside of this digital page, we are still in union in the greater community.

Sometimes I kinda like when there is a bit more balance and debate, as long as it’s tactful.

I had similar scares which made me not go to the annual in person meeting. Thinking about that, I didn’t realize “so many” on these pages are not actual USCCA member clients, as noted if one were to click on their icon/avatar; which is of course cool but they likely wouldn’t attend a meeting anyways. Food for thought for me.

Peace be with you.

Ever met someone who just liked to argue whether they are right or wrong. They just want to argue.

What I want is FOCUS on gun training, self-defense, guns, drills. humor, ROOTBEER, training, lessons learned, and home security.

I will worry about our government and complain about it to those who bring it up, in person. Think of it as your local bar, NO POLITICS, NO RELIGION, AND NO FIGHTS.

If you cannot be nice then GO AWAY!

In fairness, we could ignore the posts we don’t care about and post things that we do care about. Same as any communication. But we don’t, same as any other communication.

Hello Crockett. I’m fairly new so I haven’t read a lot of your comments.. I’m not very good at the social media. I love guns and the smell of burnt gunpowder. Have carried an EDC for about 67 years now. I did find out one thing real quick about social media. If you accidentally say something that you didn’t mean to and it’s wrong, oh boy! Every crackpot will immediately come alive and come on strong. The subject was extra magazines. I meant to say that policemen and combat soldiers are eally the only ones who need to care extral magazines. Instead I said no one needs to carry extra magazines. Including policemen and combat soldiers. I almost quit even looking at the comments much less make anymore. In a civilian self-defense gunfight You’re better off just to carry an extra gun instead of an extra magazine. There’s not going to be any time to load an extra magazine in the gunfight and if something goes wrong with your gun dropp it and grab your spare. I read that some guys carry three four magazines on body and 10 magazines in their vehicle. If the force is that large and have weapons, that you’re up against; you’re going to be dead before you load the second magazine. Why be stupid enough to try to stand against a mob or gang that large ? I enjoy talking about guns , bullets , strategies , kexperiences ECT. Also hopefully learning stuff I can use to protect my self

Sorry. Crockett, wasn’t quite done, hit the wrong buttn. I’m not very technically inclined. So I thought this would be a good forum for me. But it sounds like you’ve had plenty of experience at it and it hasn’t been a very good experience. So basically I guess, seeking advice, my I would ask you whether I should spend my time or not in this forum or is it just a waste of time?

don’t really matter all that much… you need to remember…

as Mike Tyson said… they know they wont get punched in the face so they say things…

so again have your say… there are many different opinions here… all good…

although you should keep in mind there are people PAID to cause issues…

some are not even in this country… but they still get paid to stir things…

I like listening to ‘Podcasters’ (Not Influencers that talk drivel)
To @Crockett and others I have this SUGGESTION.
As @OldDude49 just said folk’s are now ‘Paid’ to be sh!t stirrers and the same bunch
of folk’s are also just ANTI-SOCIAL and love to get peoples dander up.
When I sign in for my podcasts (the folk’s haven’t even started talking yet you see on the ‘counter’ (3-4-5) folk’s already gave it a Thumbs down—how is that possible if they haven’t even started talking yet?----- Liberal resistor’s I chalk it up to. Rumble and X users are now use to these idiots that live to tear stuff down (Rather than any effort to improve things).
My Mama always said (and she didn’t invent this) ‘It takes more muscles to frown than smile’.
Like it or not folk’s there are A LOT of unhappy folk’s out in the world and the diaper wearing Liberals are all over Social Media (the same can be said by All Talking Heads in the MSLSD MEDIA ALSO!)
The Brain washing thinking America is going to fail under Donald Trump (are looking @ the World threw Brick glasses. They know nothing else but STIRRING. No Policies from the Radical left, No support of our Constitution and Rights—Burn it all down to create a Socialist Nirvana…which never works. Already New York has succumb to the Marxist Filth (Literally garbage piling up in the streets and it hasn’t even been a year for Mammydammy.

So, my suggestion to all who are disenchanted by ‘Negativity’ I offer a simple solution (that can be a bitter Red Pill to swallow) This will get worse before it gets better *That’s this Forum and Life in general). WE NEED TO TOUGHEN UP. We’ve been handed a rancid bill of goods for YEARS! and we are now because of Trump coming out of the darkness into the light.
@Crockett , I haven’t agreed with some of your posts but being America everyone’s entitled to speak freely. The PUSHBACK you receive either tells you two things: 1) Maybe read a bit more, research your values or 2) Scroll on past the Negative BS.
STAY, All of you. Each voice brings a new gear to the machine. There are other Forums but this one has REAL Gunners that have most folk’s grounded in REALITY (Not a he!! of Reality going on out in the world today)
Stay Frosty all
All the crap is about to hit the ventilators.

I have been a member of USCCA for years. I do not exactly remember when I first signed up. Anyway, the initial experiences with the community was positive, at worst there would be some good natured poking back and forth. During and after the Pandemic things changed. There would be rants from some “Posters”, (unsure if they were members or not, I did not follow up). What surprised me about these rants were how one sided they were and not willing to listen to both sides, just theirs. I call these posters keyboard commandos. Comfortably sitting in their homes or public spaces attacking others thinking their identity was protected from most, (clue here if you are connected you are not invisible). This behavior prompted me to not spend as much time on this forum, as it had slipped away from sharing knowledge of shooting sports and self defense to some ridiculous personal attacks. I continue to check in, just not frequent. Believe what Brother Don posted, it is going to get ugly, together we stand, divided we fall. Sorry to see you go Crockett, if you feel so inclined.
