That’s nothing new, ShawnShine. The police have never had a constitutional duty to protect a citizen.
There’s another post on this–the gist was don’t shoot people over stuff–you need to have reasonable concern you’re in mortal danger (paraphrasing now).

What other states is this happening in?

I’ve heard rumor of it in Wisconsin.

I read some news articles and watched a few local news broadcasts about it happening in Philly.

I remember images from 1992 LA riots, Koreans standing on top of their shops with shotguns. Someone forgot to tell them not to defend their stuff.

Constitutional is the keyword.
When courts in Florida were swift to confirm there is no Constitutional duty to serve and protect after lawsuits had been filed after the Parkland massacre, Palm Beach Co Sheriff was just as swift to state his police force serves and protects, in accordance with local and state law.

No police response especially applies to anyone living in a Sanctuary state like Commie-fornia. Home to the highest population of homeless, Socialist bleeding hearts, and illegal aliens who commit crimes without any prosecution. Long believe the police are great but they cannot be everywhere simply impossible, so ultimately, you are on your own.

This crisis will expose many lies and it will redefine many relationships in the society. For the better, I believe.
All the robbed and vandalized libs will be the greatest (though not smartest, or they wouldnt be libs in the 1st place) 2A advocates.
I guarantee you that any PD that allows significant impact of crime on regular citizens will also be reshuffled.

I hope you’re right–my guess is they will just complain about the lack of police presence, ignoring the facts–just like they’ve done with every other issue re: to this.

The basic problem in Dallas is not enough cops. Why work in crime-ridden South Dallas when you can make 10k more in a nice suburb?

Where I live, Palm Beach Co, FL is not under any pressure, not yet, but so far I can only commend county officials. We’ll see if they can keep it up.

Sheriff Ric Bradshaw noted there is no countywide curfew in Palm Beach County and no plans at this time to impose one. The Sheriff’s Office will not be releasing prisoners from jail, and all crimes, minor and major, will be investigated and perpetrators arrested. “It’s business as usual for us,” Bradshaw said.

The Sheriff added eviction notices will not be served for at least 60 days. Finally, the Sheriff warned of fake Health Department officials knocking on doors and offering to do swab tests for $100. Please, do not become a victim of these scammers.

State Attorney Dave Aronberg noted some instances of price gouging have occurred. Please report any grossly inflated prices to 1.866…

Holy Moly: now its in my backyard too! My county is pretty red. I wonder how my neighbors are gonna feel about this. From what I understand they are letting only the mildest offenders out but what signal does this send to criminals and will they release more agregious offenders if the situation continues to get worse?
