If this keeps happening they will surely take our guns away

It’s like people are just ducking stupid. 3 times, little kids, not 15 year old, not teen agers, little kids are getting ahold of condition ZERO firearms, making the one move and getting injured or killed. My God, what does it take to convince people to take care of your ducking loaded, no safety, out in the open firearm?!?!

It takes education.

And unfortunately so many people don’t want to take the time to learn anything,… let alone something important like firearm safety.

Mike-totally agree with you. When I see stories like this I always cringe. First for the child that has been injured or worse and then for the, what I consider is an irresponsible gun owner. When things like this happen, the gun grabbers have more reasons to try and take the guns. Yes, we all make mistakes but when firearms are involved you have to double and triple check. I don’t have small children in the house anymore so I might have guns out but do have grandchildren ranging from. 6-18. When I know they’re coming for a visit, particularly the younger ones, I make sure the guns are safely secured before they’re in the house. I could never live with myself if something happened and I didn’t take every precaution.

I believe that most of theses happen from people who went out and bought a weapon out of fear. The people that are real Gun people know the dangers and train to learn more and be better. We also know the dangers and do what is needed to be sure accidents don’t happen.

And look at what’s going on in CA, the storage requirements for weapons is getting insane. These storage requirements will come first, and failure to meet them will most likely result in some felony conviction that will prohibit the offender from owning guns. I hate to sound like the other side (which I’m not!) but we lock our cars, lock our houses, put child proofing on our cabinets, get security systems, get lifelock to protect out finances, yet some fail to secure something that can result in such a tragedy. All I’m saying is we need to wake up to the obvious.

I truly believe that children raised in a family that has owned weapons know from a young age that a gun is not a toy to be picked up and played with. They have been taught from a young age the correct usage and handling, when and where. who and who can’t handle the gun. I also believe that the previous statement is true, in that new gun owners are not familiar enough, ( didn’t grow up with guns in the house ) teaching the right and wrong to children. They need to be extra cautious and secure their weapons at all times.

Surely they know the difference between responsibly are and irresponsibly armed. If they don’t who are they going to get to take our guns away¿

I don’t care if a child was raised around a firearm or not they should not be accessible. I raised two with my ex a firearm was always around they were taught how to use and respect them but they could never get to one. My EDC was on me and all others locked up.I believe in better safe then sorry. Just my thoughts, I’m sure some will disagree.

It is alarming how we have lost our minds here in North America. It’s like we want to slide down the tubes.

Autumn 1977, I took my hunter/firearm safety course inside the elementary school gymnasium. We had rifles, shotguns, pistols laid out across the tables, with boxes of ammo right there next to them. We did not find it odd that no one grabbed a gun and went wild shooting everyone. In fact, thoughts like these never occurred to anyone that I’m aware of. We were just some young boys eager to get out there and hunt with our families and friends and enjoy our first real guns. It was a rite of passage for kids like us. We wanted to make our folks proud and get 100% on our tests.

In the 1950s, you could order a cannon out of a Montgomery Wards magazine, take it out to a field and give it a shot. No one bought cannons and laid seige to their own neighborhood. We also shot guns inside the schools. Many schools had basements where kids could practice their marksmanship with .22 rifles.

And through all of this, no one picked up a gun and shot up schools, people, workplaces, etc. If anyone would have even suggested it, everyone would have looked at them loke they were crazy.

What happened?!

We turned from some the smartest people on earth to some of the dumbest.

That’s what happened.

How did that happen?

Leftists into everything for decades now. And Leftists know only one thing: destruction.

So here we are.

The other side of the coin. We have discussed this before, are you prepared to kill a 10 year old.

Louisiana boy, 10, arrested in double homicide of former mayor, his daughter (msn.com)

A 10-year-old Louisiana boy was arrested after allegedly telling authorities that he fatally shot a former mayor and his adult daughter over the weekend.

Police responded around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday to a home in Minden and found the bodies of former Minden councilman and interim mayor Joe Cornelius Sr., 82, and his daughter, 31-year-old Keisha Miles, inside with multiple gunshot wounds, KSLA-TV reported.

A guardian brought the boy to the police station, where he allegedly confessed to the killings, the station reported.

Police have yet to release the identity of the 10-year-old boy or his relationship to the victims. Investigators have not released details about what led to the shooting.

I think in these times many parents don’t KNOW their kids as well as they used too. When I was little, we had as many as 5 five guns in the house. One, a 16 ga. double barrel shotgun, hung over the bedroom door. Another one, a .22 was in a gun case in the corner. Another .22 rifle was never covered up at all, but it was normally near the one in the case in the back bedroom. Another, a 911 .45 I never even saw. All were unloaded and I knew where all the shells were kept. I ALMOST never touched one of those guns unless my older brothers told me I could. Then again, I had a nephew that was 2 years older than I was (yes, I had a wild and much older sister) that always wanted to play with the guns. Whenever he came over and no adults were around I would have to put them all in a closet to keep his mind off them. Even though I grew up with them, things have changed over the years whether it is the kids or the parents or both. I would probably keep them in a locked closet at least these days.

Hello @Robert1418. Good to see you here. My guns, if not on my person, are in locked gun safes. Once it was kids, and now grandkids. Sadly, I think you will see an increase in this type of incident. As @Peter195 says, we have an entire new generation(s) that bought guns to be cool, out of fear, whatever. But they have guns and no training. This is bad for those of us who took the responsibility to train and plan, and the LEO’s that must frequently deal with them.

Mike, We have people walking around that because of the antics of Demoncrat politicians are SCARED WIT-Less. Crime is out of control, Evil people aren’t punished, set free with basically a slap on the wrist FREE to do BG stuff over and over again. SO, they buy a Gun. ‘PROBLEM SOLVED’ NOT! Then they put it (usually loaded) in their bag, center console, Coffee table, under the seat of their car JIC. ZERO TRAINING, ZERO THOUGHT but READY! Then their kid finds it and you have another tragedy. It happens way to often. ONE TIME is too often.
Politicians USE THIS to call for Bans and Disarmament.
Evil creatures.
They have blood on their hands.
(So do untrained, Irresponsible Adults) So sad.
Blu Voters who believe the LIES that if Legal Gun Owner disarmament happens all will be Peace andLight on the streets and CRIME will plumet. They NEVER think what of the Criminal Element? Will they too give up/turn in their guns? HARDLY.
Chaos would ensue and THAT is what the Demons WANT. So they can call for Marshall Law/Nat. Guard on the streets, 1938 all over again. Except in this instance it isn’t the Jews…It’s the Gunners in the crosshairs.

( and 'Don’t call me Surely! L.Nielsen/Airplane 1)

I don’t wish to sound like a col hearted bestard Brother but if a KILLER is set to do me and mine harm (come @ us with Evil in their heart, I DON’T CARE WHAT AGE THEY ARE. I don’t care if they are Trans-Fluid, Confused, (10-11 years old), Whatever. In WAR they come in all flavors, (Now also on our City streets. A product of a Fatherless household? Their 'Mentors are Bangers and Druggies, ABUSERS and Criminals, EVERY problem they see is solved with a gun, therefore THEY are indoctrinated to same same problem solving thoughts.
You come @ me with a gun I will end you. Sorry but there it is.

Doug you NAILED IT!
The dumbing down of some people is complete. Just look @ Ms/Mr. Hale *The Religious School shooter (and MANY others). The parents said ‘I KNEW she/he-it had firearms but I thought ‘it’ got rid of them’…WHY? would they think this mixed up screw ball just all of a sudden had a 'Moment of Clarity and said "I’m confused, angry, been screwed over by life I better ell all my guns before I kill (6) people especially (3) 9 year old’s. Mr. and Mrs. Hale—YOU FAILED AS PARENTS.

In Tennessee today. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Memphis City Council sues election commission for blocking gun control ballot initiatives (msn.com)

Memphis City Council is suing the city’s commission that oversees elections after the commission removed three gun control measures from its November ballot.

The ballot included initiatives that would allow voters to decide if the city should institute red flag laws, require a permit to carry a handgun, and ban AR-15-style rifles.

However, these measures would be in direct violation of Tennessee state law. Three years ago, Gov. Bill Lee (R-TN) signed a law allowing for permitless carry for handguns, and in May, the legislature banned cities and counties from implementing their own red flag laws.

Tennessee election coordinator Mark Goins sent a letter to the Shelby County Election Commission saying that the gun control initiatives were void and should be removed from the ballot as they are in direct violation of state laws. He also wrote that the city did not follow the public notice procedures required to put a referendum on the ballot. The letter came hours after Republicans state House Speaker Cameron Sexton and Lt. Gov. Randy McNally threatened to withhold funding from the city if it did not remove the measures.

Shelby County Administrator of Elections Linda Phillips complied with Goins’s request and removed the three measures from the ballot.
