Guilty Bobbyjean, guilty. The semblance of internet anonymity, however misguided, is like a drug that acts as a truth serum, coercing people to say what they really feel, but would never say in a direct, one on one exchange. You are indeed a unique person, not to be caught up in the drug.

“Words are free, it’s how you use them that may cost you”. It is an encouragement to speak your mind and a warning of the consequences that may follow when you do.
As with the first amendment keeping the government from burning your house down and hauling you off to jail because you said something the government didn’t like, online anonymity does the same in the private world to keep the lunatics from doing worse.
Unfortunately with anonymity and the insane cultural impact of social media, many people have unfortunately given over to responding to each other with immediate, unfiltered emotional responses completely out of line with the subject at hand.
With face to face communication there are myriad body and facial queues we use in our interactions that serve to modulate our discourse so we can have mutually beneficial social interactions. Behind a keyboard many have taken to showing themselves who they are right off the bat and then go insane when someone disagrees with them, even going to so far as to threaten others with violence.
But I digress. Would I change my online behavior if I had to show who I really am?
Not really, this forum and Facebook are my only social media, having retreated from others long ago and avoided that sewer called Twitter / X altogether. I say what I have to say and move on, never to return.
The best way to stay out of a gunfight is to avoid it altogether. That axiom holds true with communicating with anyone via any means. And for any that don’t get the hint and show up to do mischief? They best be prepared for the consequences.

We ALL Know there are people on this and most other boards that run their mouths and are straight up cowards. They are the type that wouldn’t dare look most of us in the eyes as we pass by on the street. I suspect most do it to feel cool or actually think it’s funny. I live in down town Salt Lake City, said it many times on here. I drive a yellow Jeep, posted pictures of it, I train at IMMA, posted fight cards of our fighters. I told a troll that wanted to have sex with my 90 YO mother my exact phone number and address when he asked for it, interesting, not a phone call or a single knock on the door…

Telling people I live in Washington State is informing others that there are other 2A people here. Finding where I live? Good luck! and beware! Seattle is a big area with lots of weirdos! If I could find a place I could afford in another state like Arizona, Nevada, Utah I will move there. Great chef, will travel.

I live in downtown New York in the summer and Los Angeles in the winter and sometimes vacation in between. But to answer your question @BobbyJean no I don’t think I would treat anyone differently. Personally, I don’t care where folks on this board live but you have to be careful on the internet.
I wonder sometimes if there are thieves here just trying to get enough info so they can steal.
I’ll say this though, when you have witnessed a robbery go down within eyesight, it makes one a little paranoid cause the law ain’t coming. Opps does “ain’t” give my location away?

You would not have that same opinion after being a poll greeter at the most recent Virginia special election. The unhinged dems have no such restraints.
… and the dems I intereacted with, or rather did not, did not give eye contact nor even reply to a polite Good Morning/Afternoon. People with no manners, ethics nor morals. I would state ungodly, but I am an Atheist. 
However, still the most despicable people I have ever encountered, and I have unfortunately interacted with innumerable low-lifes. I carried my knives, pepper spray, and my EDC, The locale was a library not strictly a poll location.
After one incident with a deranged leftist, the second-in-charge at the library came over to me and said she saw everything. I told her I was not intimidated and had means other than my hands to defend myself. She assumed I meant a firearm, to which she stated that she was also CC. Nice to live in an area that respects and understands the RKBA.

Sir I am so ashamed of just how I Disappointed the Great Spirit. An no matter what anyone says to me I must be better than I Behaved !! I couldn’t believe that was me .
