@Mikentexas I have been in the DFW area for over 25 years. I haven’t lived in Alaska for over 50 years. I was born there, living there would be insanely insane. I was born in Fairbanks in February, it was -50’ish and they didn’t even calculate wind chill back then.

My apologies. I made a bad assumption. As it happens, I was in Fairbanks in 1959. Supposedly, they put the first asphalt streets in that year. I haven’t been back except on a cruise. I am happy to live in Texas.

I was born on Valentines Day in 1959 on Ladd AFB near Fairbanks. The base no longer exists.

I was 4 years old in 1959. One of my brothers was born in Fairbanks that year.
