NEED A BREAK FROM POLITICS
Post up your pups and your guns!
Years ago, I was out shooting my new Ruger American .223 and yelled at the dog to go away so it wouldnāt hurt her ears.
I figured if the sound hurt her ears she would shy or run away.
She didnāt she sat and ran around the shooting bench for 30 minutes all excited.
After shooting the doggy was totally deaf. I, we, all were so so so sad and upsetā¦āwhy didnāt she just run awayā? Dogs must not understand pain like we do when it comes to hearing.
For the next month we taught her hand signs and signalling.
We were so blessed that after about 6 months she regained about 75% of her hearing. To this day she has a little bit of trouble with it, but a valuable lesson that I tell to as many firearm owners as I can⦠I hope I help someone out here.
One of my favorite āold gunsā.
@txtanner Welcome to the community.
16 ga. āCHAMPIONā made by IVER JOHNSON, ARMS and CYCLE WORKS
FITCHBURG MASS. U.S.A.
This was my Dads first gun when he was 15 (about 1953) he killed his first bear that fall with a load of buckshot. The gun works fine, I have hunted rabbits and partridge with it. I think of him every time I take it out.
Welcome to the family brother and god bless you.
Nice piece of hardware brother @BRUCE26
I have a 12 gauge Iver Johnson arms and cycle works shotgun. I gave the preacher a tattoo for it.
Good trade I would say.
Oh no I hate that, very good information definitely a hard lesson learned. I was just wanting to see some cute pics of puppies.
THAT IS AWESOME! A real piece of history and super sentimental.
I figured a doggy and firearm story was close enough to topicā¦
Ohh I thought of a nice photo, Iāll post it soon.
Found my photo.
