How will a war in Europe affect you 2.0?

Maybe this is why Ukraine matters—

It is the second largest country by area in Europe by area and has a population of over 40 million - more than Poland.

Ukraine can meet the food needs of 600 million people.

Europe’s 2nd’s and the world’s 4th largest natural gas pipeline
system; 3rd largest in Europe and 8th largest in the world in terms of
installed capacity of nuclear power plants; 3rd place in Europe and
11th in the world in terms of rail network length (21,700 km); 3rd
place in the world (after the U.S. and France) in production of
locators and locating equipment; 3rd largest iron exporter in the
world 4th largest exporter of turbines for nuclear power plants in the
world; 4th world’s largest manufacturer of rocket launchers; 4th place

Ukraine matters. That is why its independence is important to the rest of the world.

While your points are valid, it is a failed state because it is corrupt so much so that all those good things are hamstrung by corrupt leaders, some of which are kicking back 10 percent for “the big guy”.

Ukraine’s children aren’t corrupt.
And they’re getting murdered by Putin.

Is corrupt Putin invading and annihilating a sovereign country just because they suffer corruption is somehow excusable?
Every country on earth suffers corruption to some degree.
Ask Hunter Biden.

Corrupt doesn’t mean failed state. There can be doubt about long-term economic stability, but let Moody’s worry about that. From what I see, they lived in comfortable cities, you can see it even as you look at the rubble left by Russian bombs.
Somalia is a failed state, so is Afghanistan. You can compare to pictures of Beirut, or Mogadishu, etc. Big contrast with Kyiv or Kharkiv.

Are you there in person or are you parroting what you saw on the tv or internet? The propaganda war here is something to behold. Suddenly a country that for 8 years nobody cared about has 81 million new experts on it. Probably voted for Biden didn’t you?

Everyone needs to educate themselves and then decide if they want to really get involved in a war with a country that has allies here in our own government that would make a phone call if we were going to strike.

You people begging for a war in a country that none of you could find on a map, need to make sure you aren’t being lied to 24/7.

I assure you. You are being lied to.

Without a money flow Ukraine would collapse. Go there and try to start a business. An HONEST one.

Are you saying, Ukraine is on constant subsidy, and that is the reason people haven’t starved yet? That’s a bit of an exaggeration. My company announced certain cybersecurity measures, they are contracting with a couple of companies there. Things are decent with them.
I won’t pretend I know how to start a business in a corrupt country. Got to grease a few palms, now and then.

The guy was an actor and a comedian and was as popular as kevin hart in Ukrainian circles and the Baltic region had syndicated tv show so got paid not only in rubles but in euros also he wasn’t that dumb and segued his fame into politics he played a diplomat on tv why not in real life … Reagan was on tv was popular enough to have a shot at governor had money and clout so yeah fast forward I see nothing wrong with the circumstances of this man’s rise

I do think you underestimate the American military , we as a society are war weary. We really don’t want an excuse to be involved in another 30 year war. We want to see some infrastructure get done. The United States military will not get tested they are equipped to fight a 4 front war from jump yes 4 front. Will the citizens of this country be mad if we went full scale yes. Will nukes come into play no but it would be a world war and we would really have to watch the anti Russian sentiment as time moves forward in the us the more it drags on and desperate people become the more savage the reactions saving grace is these people look like the majority of people here so some semblance of humanity gets exhibited to them. And before anyone says I’m making it racial I’m not I’m just putting things in perspective. My perspective , a middle class working American black man with no willingness to denigrate other Americans who look like me in order to push my pro gun stance, or fit in here or else where. Our country is completely capable of war and winning but at what cost ? I said 4 front because it will be just that kind of war with proxy wars and skirmishes breaking out. I know what I trained to do when I was “indocted “

I don’t share your confidence that a conflict between major powers won’t go nuclear. If one side starts getting hammered the temptation to use a tactical nuke might be too great and things likely escalate from there. I don’t trust the sanity or motives of many of todays leaders.

I’m also not so sure that our equipment and readiness levels are capable of a large scale multi front war. At least based on conversations I’ve had with several current and past service members. We have the best trained and equipped military in the world but it seems to have been ground down a bit from 2 decades of conflict.

Regardless of our capabilities I think the economic impacts will be great. I am actually concerned that those in power may welcome open conflict as a distraction and scapegoat from the economic mess they have made these past couple decades. Interesting times.

You have to remember Ukraine is very rich in natural resources…if Putin succeeds in taking Ukraine, he will be able to ride out the sanctions.

Besides, he will let the Russian and Ukrainian people starve while he continues to fund his military machine.

I think the need to make more money will override the temptation of the use of even tactical nukes, even if it went up 45 cent on billions tens of millions it’s enough to keep the sausage made

The problem with the top tier greedy people is they tend to keep hoovering up the money and resources until they milk the current system dry then take their money and run while everyone else is stuck dealing with the collapse.

Lots of bad things are going to happen when the majority of mid tier minions finally realize that the current economy is a giant ponzi scheme. Many have already started looking for rocks to crawl under. The best way for them to avoid the consequences of their actions is to distract everyone with us vs them conflicts between other nations and amongst ourselves. When the dust settles they will try and crawl back out to take leading roles in whatever new system is developed and start the process all over again.

Ukraine is certainly going to be used as an excuse for the bursting bubble. Though they may be able to reinflate it a few more times before it’s final failure. Eventually the bills will have to be paid and the longer we wait the worse they will be.

I’m posting from my home in sunny California however
my son is over there working as a photojournalist.

I’ll agree with your statement about propaganda overload,

However this isn’t about starting a business in Ukraine, legit or otherwise.
This about a stupid war being waged by Putin.

Ukraine did not invade Russia—please correct me if I’m wrong.
When was Ukraines first incursion in to Russia to start this ball rolling?

Ukraine gave up it’s nuclear warheads in exchange for guarantees of security from Russia, the USA and the UK----again please correct me if I’m wrong

Russia is attacking civilians in Ukraine----again please correct me if I’m wrong (are you suggesting that Ukrainians shell their own apartment buildings?)

Ukrainians are fighting invading Russians—right?

Putin claims the Russians are on a Peacekeeping mission—do peacekeepers threaten nuclear war if interfered with?
Do peacekeepers attack hospitals and schools with missiles?
Do peacekeepers attack nuclear powerplants?
Do peacekeepers silence their own press?
Do peacekeepers destroy holocaust memorials?
Do peacekeepers earn the ire of the world community?

If Ukraines are as corrupt as you claim, I seriously doubt the general population of Ukraine could or would mount the defensive posture they have so far.

Let me help you understand what Rubles and Ukrainian Hrvynia are worth to the American Dollar. Pennies. His rise is not what bothers me so much as how much wealth he has made on a politician’s salary. If you understood the economics of their country, you would ask many questions as have the Ukrainian People. I don’t expect you to pay attention to those things because you don’t even care about the politicians who are running OUR country and their corruption.

I would wager that you are largely an uneducated person about the region and have no idea how that place got to where it is, and why it would be best to simply allow it to play itself out instead of resorting to Histrionics like some socialist democrat.

The war is the result of Donetsk, and Lugansk wanting sovereignty. Ukraine has been shelling Lugansk and Donetsk for 8 years. The history of those two little regions goes back to the Holodomor when Ethnic Ukrainians were starved out, and replaced by Ethnic Russians and Georgians. Those lands only recently were given back to Ukraine by Boris Yeltsin, who happened to be Ukrainian.

Ukraine gave up not only its nuclear arsenal, but its gold which found its way to the Federal Reserve, in exchange for money from the US, and loan guarantees, which is how the Biden Family and other democrat families have been grifting all manner of money out of that country.

You ask me whether or not False Flag operations happen? Sorry to say it, but they do indeed.

Do you know about the 8 biological weapons labs destroyed by Russia? If not, you should find out who ran them. Then before you go all indignant that I asked you to educate yourself beyond the mainstream narrative, you should understand that I do have friends there. I myself speak and read both Russian and Ukrainian, and have a considerable education on that part of the world since I have been there. I can tell you from my own sources and own experiences that all this propaganda that is going on, is meant do this very thing you yourself are doing. You stop looking for answers and just emote your way to your own safely undeducated opinions.

The only thing this country should be doing, is demanding our own government protect OUR borders instead of concerning ourselves with a country that has been the highway for conquerors since about the 2nd Century. The only reason why we are involved, is because our corrupt leaders helped install their corrupt leaders and there is a lot of money involved.

Notice how they aren’t cutting off the Russian Oil to the US? Notice who shut down our energy independence? It wasn’t Russia that did that, it was our own corrupt government who did that.
As far as how corrupt Ukraine is, you should probably just shut up about the people there. The people of this country would fight a foreign invader, and we have our own government selling us out to our enemies daily. Why would the Ukrainian people be any different? Since they aren’t fighting for their government, they are fighting for themselves.

But please do go on about how much more virtue you pretend you have. You know nothing about that part of the world and only care because your child is there taking pictures and doing his part to keep the propaganda war alive.

And we have Mexico, and Canada. Trading partners that our government has cut energy flow from and where our jobs seem to be headed. We aren’t cutting off that 10 percent of our oil supply from Russia, so I don’t think that cutting off his military machine is really what America Wants. Our government needs a distraction, and they have it. Look at all the uneducated people on this thread who know absolutely nothing about going to Ukraine and probably couldn’t have found it on a map if their lives depended on it.

Bruce I can assure you that Russia and China are going to do whatever they choose because there is no greater collusion with those two powers, than what comes from our own government.
