I do not carry a backup firearm on my person, but do have a second handgun, a rifle and ammo for both in my vehicle. On me, I carry a Glock 43x, a second magazine and a knife. I also have my pup with me at all times.

Most of the badges are automated, so I wouldn’t take it personally. They’re not actively awarding or stripping (most) privileges, like the number of thumbs up available. Don’t let it bother you.
We know you’d give us a thumbs up if you could & that’s all that matters.
Plus, now you have something to work for again, a bit of a challenge/game

ZoldFrog i have ten badges i Don’t want any of them. I truly have Done my very best to add Good to the community and i can not give a thumbs up on a thread that i created. Thats a Game i Don’t play games. I truly Thought this Community wanted me to come Back . I Don’t understand when my Trust Level is Higher I truly wanted to be apart of this Love Bobby Jean Sir

Like Zold said, it’s just how the forum is programmed, it’s not personal to any of us. After a certain amount of time being active they’ll automatically up the number you can give. I don’t know why it’s programmed that way, but it’s the same for everyone. You were off line for a long time, so you probably reverted back to a limit like someone new on the forum.
It’s no big deal, you can and did reply your approval, and that says more than a thumbs up, anyway. Keep on posting and giving thumbs up and your status will change back to regular and I think you won’t be limited on number of thumbs up you can give. I know other regular members have run into the same thing. Honestly, I think it’s a way to somehow protect against bot activity.

My handgun is my backup.
My primary weapon is pepper gel/spray and collapsible baton. So far I never needed to go for my handgun. I never used my pepper gel as well.
Looks like bad ass looking Smith & Wesson baton has been enough for assailants to stay at safe distance and not approaching me closer.

Good question. There are places and times I’m not allowed to EDC a CCW, or certain tools, so I try to keep alternative tools nearby, at home, in the car, at work; Even on my person at work, though non lethal only allowed where I work.
i sometimes have trouble if I end up carrying too much weight, so I am careful to ensure my primary EDC CCW is reliable.
Anecdote "below", some of you heard before:
During the height of Covid 19 and the multiple protests in the streets like five years ago, remember the long lines at our favorite firearms shops?
Chatting up people in line, discovered we had things in common and many were first time buyers/owners.
An older & charming couple in front of me carried a neat back pack, on it, they wore a patch, gun accessory related logo, which happened to be a brand that was my mother’s own name. So I struck up a convo with them. The married couple told me they work as long haul highway truck drivers. That day they were purchasing a second firearm, a smaller one.
He said to me “One is none, two is one”. LOL.

I usually always carry a backup. It is a NAA .22WMR with what they call a “Holster Grip”. I carry it clipped in my front right pocket. It actually looks like a knife when in your pocket. It opens like a knife and then you have a 5 round single action pistol. I also carry that lock blade pocket knife that my grandfather gave me over 40 years ago,

I haven’t trained with it in that application. How to access/draw/acquire/engage. We do train laying down back/front/sides but that for falling down or shooting from cover never reach for the ankle/clear/draw…

That’s a good reason. I thought it may be something related to that specific firearm. Not that that wouldn’t have t also been a good reason. Was just curious
