Current federal law in the United States, using marijuana—whether recreationally or medically—disqualifies a person from legally owning, purchasing, or possessing firearms, regardless of state legalization. Does President Trump reclassifying it to schedule 3 affect this?
Just made a post over there.
Hey @Karacal , you pushed him too hard… ![]()
@TheKid would disagree ![]()
What did I miss?? Everything was flagged! What did you do @Karacal ??
It was an article on how to survive garage living during the Winter. ![]()
I can tell you the secret… more marijuana in garage, more chances to survive. ![]()
(Under the Sate Law… I’m not sure if this applies to Federal Laws)
If Marijuana is legalized as a schedule 3 prescription medication (or legalized federally for recreational use) it would then not be illegal a user of marijuana (as prescribed by law) to possess a firearm.
Would it cause one to be DWI?
When applying for a CA CCW permit, having a record affects one’s chances of getting approved or disapproved.
But it is not legalized yet, am I correct?
That is correct.
No, it is still banned under federal law.
As always, thank you @MikeBKY for your expertise. ![]()
Do you think that @MikeBKY would have the skills to get me out of my garage??
Probably, it depends on whether he’s a good divorce lawyer or not. ![]()
