How comfortable is your holster?

Holsters. I love my Tulsters for my summer/winter EDCs. But…I want something I can carry around some land that we own. I was going to buy another wonderful SAR9 (17 rd mag), but I figure that I can just carry the one I have out there, and maybe the ridiculous M&P9 M2.0 Shield EZ (8 rd mag) in orchid…but finding simple, inexpensive holsters for them has been hard. There are so many S&W (and SAR9 models!) that no sellers seem to know which one will fit and many don’t make one for the SAR9PT. Any good ideas/options from the peanut gallery?

Vedder and Clinger should have them.

Look into Bravo Concealment. They offer IWB and OWB models. Very comfortable and easy on the wallet.

Holsters are hard!

I ended up with a Tulster for the S&W in blue, because it was $10 off and I’m cheap (and support the blue!). Grabbed two mag holsters while I was there, one single, one double. They are having a big sale.

Then went to Concealment Express (a.k.a. roundedgear.com terrible name) who is also having a huge sale and picked up one for the SAR9. As it turns out, I’ve avoided buying a holster forever because the material said 1.25” grip when it is really 1.4” like all of the other SAR9 model. ARGH! Just a typo no one knew about.

Thanks all! It’ll be nice to carry these two very inexpensive units when out in the woods instead of my regulars.

As you were…

I’m a real MRT Fan Boy, the top one is my EDC. I mean who doesn’t love the feel/smell of leather against their skin?

Tulsters came today. It is much nicer in person (color) than on the site. It looks “plugged in” on the site. The Shield EZ mag must be full for the mag holster, as it had the loading aids on the sides, like a .22lr.

A purple (orchid) Shield, shielded in blue to support the folks who shield us (cops).

Worth noting that while the Tulster holsters and the Rounded by Concealment Express are nearly identical, down to the size, shape, and angle of the belt catch, the Tulster allows better adjustability (slight up/down changes as both clip mounts have a slot) than the Rounded, which has one static clip mount and one adjustable one.

Both are nice. Rounded was cheaper. I’d prefer Tulster in the future if I ever buy more. I need to get rid of these fabric ones. Anyone? Bueller?

How do you like it after a few days? I have a basically identical one for the same gun. After a while I found that the bulge for the thumb safety was digging into my side a little too much. I added a pad from Sticky Holsters to the inside of the kydex, and it solved that problem, but did make the whole thing a little thicker, which goes against one of the advantages of the single stack ez (it’s thin width). Still, it’s comfortable that way, and it’s what I wear when I’m exercising.

I’m pretty lean and wore it all day one day and never noticed it. I do have a t-shirt on the inside of it when I carry. It is larger than the PPS I normally carry, but still thin.

In winter, I normally carry the VP9SK….so this SAR 9 is a LOT bigger in every way. That will be interesting if I decide to carry it a bit. The plan is to have it when hiking, etc. and I don’t care if it shows or not.
