My Alabama Pocket Holster for my Ruger SR9c is verry comfortable.
I have a few Sticky’s, HolsterCo’s, and WeThePeople’s. I also have one ZeroCarry for the Prodigy.
Comfort really depends on wardrobe and what I decide to carry, because I carry AIWB. Belt loops are not my friend.
I really recommend the Nexbelt EDC specifically for AIWB. It really makes whatever I am carrying, ride more comfortably.
I’ve had three. My bad 4, I have one ( the Kydex ) in two different colors!
One leather with zero retention, but very comfortable.
Second was inexpensive kydex that split down the middle after five years. My last is an IWB Kydex, fits my body like a glove that I’ve been wearing for almost 14 years.
Don’t feel it, hardly know it’s there.
No one else knows it’s there either!
The leather now keeps my baby safe on the living room side table when I’m home!
I guess you could say I’m a minimalist!
I like the leather one a lot.
OWB is what I use 99% of the time, far more comfortable and I can wear the same size pants with or without a holsert…
Sure it sticks out more but im bigger so it digs in far less and on the regular, I still carry concealed a full size no problem even in the summer (6” barrel full size).
Great points. Although not a comfort item per se, being able to secure a full hand grip before initiating a draw is most essential.
As brother @Todd30 has mentioned comfort is very important. If you are not comfortable most likely you will not carry. I have been wearing C&G Kydex Holsters ( american made veteran owned company ) for both IWB, OWB and AIWB. I have played around with some Masters leather holsters, but I prefer the Kydex.
Galco Summer Special.
Once broken in and treated as high grade leather, cuts you draw time in half. However, if you’re an FBI agent that likes to dance, all bets are off!
This is something I’m experimenting with. I currently have an IWB kydex holster I bought from the gun shop where I bought my gun. Just their own in-house brand. It’s fine but the bottom of it digs in and irritates. Like it feels like really rough edges. I’m guessing that’s common for kydex holsters? Was thinking about getting a wedge to cover the bottom or trying other holsters?
I’m sure position is part of it. I’m still experimenting with position. Three o’clock feels good but prints more on me. Twelve o’clock just doesn’t work for me. 2:00-2:30 works really well, feels really good and doesn’t print, but is where I’m getting the bottom digging in - like right at the top of my leg. I do have the bigger of the two wings that came with it on it so maybe I’ll try the smaller one.
Let me know if you have any thoughts or suggestions.
Try different angles (assuming yours is adjustable. I loosened the screws on the firearm and mag holder, put them on, and moved them around until they were comfy then snugged the bolts and never looked back. More like 4 and 8 o’clock for me, firearm and mag. 3 felt terrible.
My holster is very comfortable. I carried my Sig p229 in an OWB holster by Galco. The “Concealable” , it retains the pistol very well, covers the front sight to protect it from things I might bump into and most importantly to me, it is a silent draw. You don’t get the noise you normally get when drawing a pistol from a Kydex holster. I use a “we the people” belt, which is very stiff and I literally forget I’m carrying the pistol on my body. I carry this pistol from the time I leave the house till the time I return, without fail.
I have 2 of those myself. Very comfortable, holds close to the body, and both still have “turn it upside down and shake it” retention I think is remarkable for an all leather open top holster.
Over the years I’ve tried a number of holsters, pouches, and such many of which didn’t work well. My EDC is a S&W Equalizer and I’ve been using a Falco IWB holster that is made for it. I’ve found this works very well when my shirt is tucked out. When my shirt is tucked in I have to pocket carry and I use a Sticky. Most of my pockets are deep enough to conceal the equalizer well but there are a few which if viewed closely the grip can be seen. So far, nobody has seen it. Comfortable and concealable carry is somewhat of a compromise/tradeoff. I just purchased something small enough to fit in all my pockets. I’m going to try a Mika Holster for this one. Reviews seem to be pretty good. https://mikaspocketholsters.com
A wedge (aka pillow) should help.
You might want to try a hybrid holster. Leather on the inside, on the body, and kydex covering the gun. I carry appendix and I tried two holsters that were pure kydex and both hurt whenever I was sitting. I got a hidden hybrid holster and it solved all my problems.
I like the look of this holster also. The forward molded design looks extremely comfortable. Unfortunately I believe that it’s not available for left handed carry.
Sorry. I’m referencing the Galco Concealable.

Re the Galco Concealable. My browser was messing up; left handed holsters are available for this model.
