How are you mentally preparing for possible extended quarantine?

@Dicki you are from Chicago, the highest infected place in Illinois. Now, you are going to drive to Texas. You and Brian should be held liable for each and every person you come in contact with. If you don’t want to “check in” on anyone else, that is your decision. To recklessly travel, without need, at this time is ludicrous. You do know that some people are being charged with criminal activity, for doing things barely more absurd than what you are proposing, don’t you? My wife works in a drs office. It’s the behavior like this, that endanger the lives of medical professionals, and the high risk among us.

Gotcha, I misunderstood what you were saying. Agree totally.

@JustinK:ok_hand: sometimes is’t hard for me to clearly express thoughts in writing.

Agreed - and we should be talking about how and when it’s appropriate to have civil disobedience and the times it’s important to come together as a country and try to save lives by complying with requests to stay home.

It’s a delicate balancing act and one we should be passionate and compassionate about - and should be talking about in a responsible manner.

No one is saying we should give up our rights because we’re told to give up our rights. What we’re saying is we need to use our rights responsibly and effectively.

@Jerzees - text does make conversations a little difficult from time to time. That’s one thing about the Community - you all acknowledge that and have conversations to clarify someone’s stance without too much assuming.

You nailed it Dawn–to me, the USCCA is about saving lives by being prepared to responsibly excercise your rights.
That’s the culture I want to be a part of and promote.

My wife and I both work in what are considered essential industries. There will be no quarantine, or shelter in home for either of us unless one, or both of us get sick.

I have worked from home for some time now, so during the week not a lot has changed except longer hours now than before. They have just extended the school closing for us and I don’t think the kids will go back before Fall now. They are adjusting to “distance learning” pretty well. As a benefit it does teach some personal responsibility now that they are accountable for their time to work on school assignments rather than have a block of time each day that was dictated for them by a class schedule. We have done some projects to give them additional desk space to work from in their rooms now that we know it will be longer than a week. I have noticed that the “day” without outside schedules has slipped, we are eating meals about 2 hours later than we did before. Part of the explanation might be that this all happened right after the “Spring Forward” day light savings change but I actually like the later times better so we are going with it for now. To sum it up I think the best thing to do mentally is to own it and make accommodations to be as effective as possible (i.e. desks and timing of meals).

My brother is a hermit so it’s just another day…

I unfortunately and single but I want a relationship (has to be the right relationship though).

Tomorrow marks the end of 2 weeks off. While it’s s nice break, I’d still love to do something. I’ve volunteered to do some work at my gun shop for their remodel for when they go full closed and need some help. Still, I’ll manage just fine with no ill effects…

Able to work from home most of the time, have to report to the office once a week. Between work/work based training/being the kids new teacher (twin kindergartners)/fitting in some laser training/trying to ignore panic or Doom based news (I know it’s bad but let’s stick with the facts) etc. Not gonna be bored. We here in MN are still allowed to hit the trails and what not so if I get too pent up we head to the trails and get some greenery in.

In caddo its been into play this whole week.

We had a quite a few people that are no longer with us in North West Louisiana. I pray for the family’s right now all across the country & world that they may find peace.

I’m just analyzing Covid-19 statistics in USA… and this is what mentally prepares me to stay home:

March 23: 16354 new cases, 201 confirmed deaths (in 24 hr period)
March 24: 10591 new cases, 69 confirmed deaths (in 24 hr period)
March 25: 9750 new cases, 202 confirmed deaths (in 24 hr period)
March 26: 11656 new cases, 211 confirmed deaths (in 24 hr period)

These numbers are provided by WHO, other portals give about 10%-15% higher values.

It doesn’t matter how long… stay at home

And those are just the ones who are being tested and/or diagnosed before they die. It’s scary that some people are so flippant about it. Even my 20 yo sons are concerned and taking extra precautions.

I work in Telecom as a senior executive and my wife is a Regional Nursing Director. We both have been working from our home offices for years.

We are both very busy, but we are used to being able to function business as usual as we’ve already been set up in our functioning office areas so there are no distractions and keeping a set schedule.

As far as extended quarantine, we’ve got plenty of area and space around the house so we’re not crowded.

Our supplies are up to snuff as well.

So we’re in good spirits, it’s basically been our same schedules except we’re home all the time.

Got a new thing to keep myself occupied, going outfit my van and trailer to be ready within an hours or 2 notice to bug out and setup remotely.

Talking with a friend, the clock is ticking closer to a potential lockdown where I would bug out to an official location to be his logistics officer of sorts…

Hope it does not come to that but now I got a plan to prepare for…

We can be mentally prepared for extended quarantine, but are we mentally prepared to be positively tested for SARS-CoV-2? :pensive:
I’m not.
