I hope everyone will read Dave Ramsey’s comments about going cashless. It’s a two minute read. No one has explained it better. He brings up several situations I’d never considered.

HERE’S WHAT NO CASH ACTUALLY MEANS:

A cashless society means no cash. Zero. It doesn’t mean mostly cashless and you can still use a ‘wee bit of cash here & there’. Cashless means fully digital, fully traceable, fully controlled. I think those who support a cashless society aren’t fully aware of what they are asking for. A cashless society means:

* If you are struggling with your mortgage on a particular month, you can’t do an odd job to get you through.

* Your child can’t go & help the local farmer to earn a bit of summer cash.

* No more cash slipped into the hands of a child as a good luck charm or from their grandparent when going on holidays.

* No more money in birthday cards.

* No more piggy banks for your child to collect pocket money & to learn about the value of earning.

* No more cash for a rainy day fund or for that something special you have been putting $20 a week away for.

* No more little jobs on the side because your wages barely cover the bills or put food on the table.

* No more charity collections.

* No more selling bits & pieces from your home that you no longer want/need for a bit of cash in return.

* No more cash gifts from relatives or loved ones.

What a cashless society does guarantee:

* Banks have full control of every single penny you own.

* Every transaction you make is recorded.

* All your movements & actions are traceable.

* Access to your money can be blocked at the click of a button when/if banks need ‘clarification’ from you which will take about 3 weeks, a thousand questions answered & five thousand passwords.

* You will have no choice but to declare & be taxed on every dollar in your possession.

* The government WILL decide what you can & cannot purchase.

* If your transactions are deemed in any way questionable, by those who create the questions, your money will be frozen, ‘for your own good’.

Forget about cash being dirty. Stop being so easily led. Cash has been around for a very, very, very long time & it gives you control over how you trade with the world. It gives you independence.

If you are a customer, pay with cash. If you are a shop owner, remove those ridiculous signs that ask people to pay by card. Cash is a legal tender, it is our right to pay with cash. Banks are making it increasingly difficult to lodge cash.

Please open your eyes. Please stop believing everything you are being told. Almost every single topic in today’s world is tainted with corruption & hidden agendas.

Pay with cash & please say no to a cashless society while you still have the choice.

I like cards, and the whole tap to pay chip in the card, kinda cool.

That said, I despise my phone prompting me to pay randos in public!

Cash is nice, I’d like to see us back to gold.

I believe @Wanda8 there is a wee bit more to it than this—THIS what Ramsey wrote was entwined in with the ‘Old School’ system of cash management based on the Cabal’s FIAT dollar and exorbitant abuse of FED RESERVE printing money to make the books look better (along with rampant FRAUD and Money Laundering).

The old ways AREN’T Self Correcting----if left to their own devices the current ways will only get worse as we’ve seen with our own eyes the Criminal element is STILL trying to revamp US AID , FEMA, RED CROSS and UN-Planned Parenthood, (and unfortunately many others).

The old system has to perish and a new more controlled (monitored) system is being put in place as we speak. I’m no expert and yes it will be a huge change for some folk’s set in their ways. I don’t know how we will pay for a Baby-sitter, Parking in a secured Lot, Buying a Burger but they will tell us and it will all be backed by the GOLD STANDARD so it will be protected. If it goes anywhere near what has been predicted it may be a bumpy few months till we get use to these new ways of living and doing business.

Does anybody remember their FIRST CREDIT CARD? (ok, lets go further and say Debit card? ATM’s? a change some didn’t handle very well.

I believe also that this is an old fallacy (FEAR based) where the big bad .gov will CONTROL how we live our lives .

I won’t be a spokesman for this system or The President but I will say IF we dispense Justice properly and the Bad Guy’s Lose their heads whatever the game plan from this Administration is being done for our benefit and not to impose MORE restrictions, Control and abuse over us. I’ve grown accustomed to having ‘Ready Cash’ around—purchasing certain items (some that go Boom!) is often my choice for a Dollar/Cash system but it isn’t safe anymore to many corrupt hands in our pie’s.

We shall see said the blind man on how the Gold will operate but I am not worried. With that whole Muslim thingy and the Illegal Aliens, Commie/Socialists in our wheel house already and battle those Hormuz nut jobs this doesn’t bother me too much. I’d love to see my Mortgage disappear (I mean we already paid 5x’s more for our cars, trucks, houses and Credit card balances that if it wasn’t for the high interest rates we’d own every thing outright by now.

I’ve been 99.99999% all plastic for decades. Love it. Hate cash. Hate carrying it. Hate worrying about someone taking it. Love being able to move money in a few moments to a business, person, or investment. I can’t wait until we’re 100% no cash.

I don’t have any electronic payment method on my phone. I guess I need to learn more about that. Is that BlueTooth or NFC?

I find my boss annoying when she pushes AI and cashless systems, and she states her point in some kind of “I guarantee you” delivery, it annoys me even more. Makes me wonder if she’s been to Davos.

The fastest way to move to a barter society is to turn it into a cashless society. However I have a feeling our Government would quickly make bartering illegal. Today the barter system is pretty much dead because we have cash, the vast majority of people are not going to trade goods for services or services for goods because barter cannot do what cash can do. You cannot pay your taxes with barter, you cannot get healthcare with barter and you cannot buy property with barter. On the other hand if we move to a cashless society and it’s not illegal to barter, I have a feeling that people will quickly figure out that bartering is the superior form of payment because you don’t pay taxes on it.

Under IRS code, bartering is taxable. Take a look at Schedule D. I have seen 1099-Bs in my audits.
