Hawaii: Proposal to limit magazines to 5 rounds

“Whilst it was unclear what the actual number will be, Representative Gregg Takayama gave the impression that the starting point would be five rounds,” the alert continued. “This would not only significantly reduce the number of rounds in rifles, but would also reduce the number of rounds allowed in pistols by 50%.”
Under state law, all detachable feeding devices with a capacity over 10 rounds are outlawed unless they’ve been modified to comply with the current 10-round limit.

And people wonder why revolvers are being made with 7,8, and 10 round cylinders. This is why.

Hawaii falls under the 9th circuit, the current lawsuit regarding open carry must be allowed if may issue for CCW permits prevent citizens from being able to defend themselves was filed in Hawaii. It’s still pending so if it is heard and found unconstitutional then it sets a precedent for other states such as CA.

In turn CA has the lawsuit moving forward and pending to be heard for detachable magazine capacities over 10rds that will benefit Hawaii and other states as well.

How long do you think it will be until some bright little wanna-be tyrant proposes, or worse yet passes, legislation declaring that a revolver cylinder is the functional equivalent of a magazine and therefore subject to the same regulations?

I think the reason they haven’t is their own ignorance. They see a revolver and assume, as do many in the 2A community, that these slow to load, heavy, low capacity things are antiquated and out dated. We all know such is not the case.

Okay what about wheel guns designed for more than 5 rounds? Are they going to require that a chamber/s be sealed by either epoxy or having a slug welded into one or more of the chambers?

Don’t give them any ideas, but that epoxy thing sounds great for pelosi’s mouth!

:blush:and at least 5 others that were with her last night… I REALLY hope America wakes up soon, if not it’s gonna be too late. Welcome to the USSA where the government knows best and the proletariat must follow or go to gulag…glad I’m an old man and not 20, hate to think what will exist on this piece of ground 30 years downrange.
I had the pleasure of being in Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic last November at the time they were celebrating 30 years of freedom from their “Socialist” masters. The stories the people tell are unbelievable! Standing in line for shoes and basic food, shortages of toilet paper and other basics, constantly being watched and spied on by “neighbors” and “friends.” The morons in this country who support this crap have no idea what they are asking for, they here “free stuff and no responsibility” and they’re all for it. I sincerely hope I don’t live to see it here.

I worked for a guy who emigrated from Belarus. Lovely man who looked like a 5’4" bear
The only time I ever saw him angry was when someone said they thought socialism was a good idea. He told some horrifying stories, and then told the person if they thought it was such a good idea he’d help them get immigration status TO Russia. Soooooo much anger there you could feel the heat roll off him.

Same with the folks I met-hated the experience of living under the socialist system. One fellow told how his family had farmed the same area for generations., socialists came in and took the farm, grandpa resisted, he was arrested and “died in prison”. Another in Slovakia told of her uncle in Hungary dying. No one in the family was permitted to go across the border 50 miles to the funeral (both Socialist states). Have a friend who defected from Hungary in ‘68. HATES anything/ anybody socialist. His wife (from Poland) has a similar story. Their son ( an American😊) graduated from West Point and is currently a full bird Colonel in the Army👍
