GunSafes

I have a half dozen long guns and 4 pistols. I am looking for a gun safe that won`t break the bank. I have found a few but it seems the reviews were all bad, mostly from delivery problems any suggestions?

Get something with a dial type combination lock. There have been rumors about the electronic locks having a factory set code available so an alphabet agency can open them.

The safe I have is a lower end Liberty I picked up at Lowe’s. I bought one they had in stock, so no delivery problems.

What do you want/need it to do? You can go cheap from one that gets assembled and would be fine in a secure or hidden space (no fire protection, I think) to full on SAFE!

I have a cheap Stack-On. Cheap, an old school steel cabinet is probably more sturdy. But, it meets CA gun storage requirements.

Start here, I’m sure some affordable safes are discussed

I had a walk-in closet. I took the back of it and made it a hiding place. I put a shoe rack and shelves in front of it then placed a safe inside. No one can see it, but I can get to it.

Same here. Very inexpensive but more than adequate. It does not offer fire protection. It is also lightweight. But I have mine in an unfinished area of my basement, and bolted it down to the floor. Without that, it may be possible for two people to steal the whole safe intact. But bolted down, it doesn’t budge. I got them as a 2-safe special, where the 2nd one is ideal for storing things like ammo and range bags (after adding a couple simple shelves).
