Gun Violence

Am I being paranoid or can I assume that the increasing number of violent attacks with firearms are not only an the act of an unstable individual with his or her own demented axe to grind, but may also be instigated by outside forces putting ideas in their heads? We are surrounded by our enemies. They all would like to see our downfall and move into our power slot in the world. Why not add a little fuel to the fire by tweaking weak minds to act in a violent manner. Social media is loaded with entities that are more than happy to use it against us. Why not throw out a few ideas that are appealing to the demented readers and see how they react. It doesn’t hurt to try and maybe they will get results that hurt us, like the total abolishment of personally owned weapons.

Do we know that violent attacks are indeed rising (in proportion to the population)?
Could be, I’m just not sure. Things have been pretty rough for a while.

If by outside forces you mean corporate media’s wall to wall coverage that turns these pathetic losers into celebrities, then yes there are outside forces putting ideas into the majority of these sick peoples’ heads.

If you mean foreign entities grooming these losers and pushing them to act I think that would be a very very rare occurrence. Though we have seen the occasional domestic 3 letter agency egging some people along to commit violent acts in the name of preventing crime. But this is nothing compared to the news medias role in glorifying and inspiring more of these fortunately still very rare acts.

As long a violence or gun violence makes money for people who say they will stop it; gun violence will not stop. When gun violence starts costing people more money than it is making them it will stop.

Yes, starting with the term “gun violence” which is inconsistent with defining all other acts of violence.

Knife violence? Car violence, anyone?

As a political issue, this is certainly true. If there were a legislative solution, it would not be in the financial best interests of the politicians to implement it. As the saying goes, the problem is worth more than the solution.

It seems we’ve theoretically come to the conclusion that there’s no solution!

Personally, I’m just saying that I probably wouldn’t trust anyone who claimed to have the solution.

I think the solution could or should be a collective thing. Take all of us, in a room! I imagine with some time and money and looking each other in the eyes with the truth behind us, we could figure it out!

This group? We couldn’t even agree on cake or pie. How are we going to solve gun violence without dessert?

I’m not sure anyone wants me at a meeting like that
I’m apolitical and I have no use for political correctness when it comes to Constitutionaly protected rights. To many sacrifices have been made by servicemen defending the Constitution for me to not feel strongly.

The United States of America is great because of the Constitution, not in spite of it.

If there is a solution, more government control of the ones who aren’t the problem, is not the solution, I promise you that

You are right about the news media. Anything to sell a paper. The more lurid, the closer it gets to the front page. Why would outside incitement be a rare occurrence, if Russia can interfere with an election and China commit cyber crimes why not jump into the internet and plant a few ideas. I must be losing my mind.

The old saying about headlines, “if it bleeds, it leads.”

While we wait for that, how many innocent lives will we lose to these maniacs. As long as the “decent citizens” of our communities make it difficult to defend ourselves and others and as long as we have to fear law suits and incarceration for defending ourselves and as long as the news media puts legal carriers in the same category as criminals, the insane and mentally unstable will continue to use the innocent as target practice.

Take away all the guns and you still have baseball bats.

If you want to see an example of using this issue in a political event, take a look at the mayoral candidates running for the mayor of Chicago. Each one of them has “THE SOLUTION” to the crime and shooting problem in that city. I don’t have a solution, I wish I did.

To elaborate on that, it’s physically and logistically impossible to take away all the guns, as there are too many, and nobody is proposing to take away all the guns…at most they are proposing to make it so only the government ha guns…because how could that go wrong
