Pelosiās office had previously impressed upon Irving that the National Guard was to remain off Capitol Grounds, Irving allegedly told House Admin. The discussions, which centered around āoptics,ā allegedly occurred in the months prior to the Jan. 6 riot, during a time when deployment of federal resources for civil unrest was unpopular with Democrats and many members of Congress.
Two days before Congress was set to formalize President-elect Joe Bidenās victory, Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund was growing increasingly worried about the size of the pro-Trump crowds expected to stream into Washington in protest. To be on the safe side, Sund asked House and Senate security officials for permission to request that the D.C. National Guard be placed on standby in case he needed quick backup.
But, Sund said, they turned him down.ā John Falcicchio, chief of staff for D.C. Mayor Muriel E. Bowser admitted: āLiterally, this guy is on the phone, I mean, crying out for help. Itās burned in my memories.ā
On Jan. 6, Chief Sund again asked the house Seargent at arms Paul Irving to request National Guard help. Irving said he would have to quote āRun it up the chainā to get permission from Speaker Pelosi because he was concerned about the āopticsā that calling in the National Guard would present.
Irvingās āChainā is the political leadership that appointed him, specifically Pelosi. Although she was not in charge of the Capitol Police, she WOULD be in charge of the decision to call in the NG, because of the āOpticsā.

I seem to recall the news asking āwhere is Trumpā between the hours of 7:00PM and 9:00PM.
From what I find online, Pelosi had no say in the deployment of the guard.
However, does no guard presence mean the actions of that night were permitted? I watched this event for three hours in complete disbelief.
I have no idea about torries. All I recall from school is an American History class teacher asking me questions about the political parties of Washington and Adams (I missed all the questions), and spending the entire Civics class admiring a girl across the classroom.
I am not rich. I have no idea how others become rich.
Of course she ātakes responsibilityā now. She took it in a vehicle with her daughter, who was filming it at the time and unnoticed by Pelosi. Obviously, Pelosi didnāt expect her statements to become public. Now, it remains to be seen if this evidence is used to hold her accountable or used in J6 defenses.
That WOULD APPEAR to be a FEDERAL Courthouse that was attacked, in which Federal Officers were forcefully barricaded in the building as it burned.
And donāt forget that the Chief of Capitol Police (Remember the scapegoat) ALSO asked for National Guard support.
