Government Shutdown

No, it’s not.

If I see this hypothetical situation unfold, I WILL intervene, of my own volition!

I have done almost exactly this, rendering aid to a man who was down and scalped in the middle of the street after being hit by a car.

I literally held half his scalp back on his skull while we waited for an ambulance.

Once the ambulance arrived and took control of the scene, I had to ask a bystander to dump their water bottle over my hands to rinse off his blood!

THAT was all on me as a good person trying to save a life in the moment.

As to the rest of his medical care beyond that moment?

NOT MY RESPONSIBILITY!

And my tax dollars shouldn’t go to his care either unless I actively volunteer them!

So I guess what you are saying is you don’t want any of YOUR money going to save anyone. I thought human life meant nothing to ISIS and the Taliban. I guess the same is true with patriots?
I am happy to have them spend my tax dollars on saving you or anyone else. Believe it or not, they spend it on worse things.

I applaud you for this. However, I do not understand why you would not give less than .05% of money to do the same. I hope it is not because of acknowledgement for the action. I really do not think you are that shallow. I just don’t get it; we are talking about someone’s life.

Not just “anyone”

I’m good with my tax dollars saving our soldiers and first responders.

I’m okay with a certain amount of those tax dollars going to the rescue of Americans in desperate need…..

Americans.

I’m sympathetic to those seeking asylum from the hell hole that is most of the rest of the world…..

They should fight to bring their homeland to the level of the USA rather than fleeing here and dragging us down to the level of their homeland.

I do NOT support illegal or undocumented immigrants leaching off of the infrastructure designed to support less fortunate legal citizens.

I so agree with you on this. Also, I agree with not wanting people who do not belong here benefiting from our labor or services. I just would not deny someone life-saving help because of money.

But weren’t you advocating for them to be here just a couple months ago,…

During the harvest time?

didn’t you claim you grew up on a farm and understood the plight of migrant workers?……

Slaver.

None of this is about denying anyone “life-saving” help. Today, tomorrow, next month or next year, if a person is brought into a hospital in need of actual emergency care, they will get immediate emergency care, regardless of who they are, how much they pay in taxes, whether they have insurance, or whether or not they are here legally. Anyone and everyone who says otherwise is either lying, misinformed or ignorant.

What this is about is closing loopholes that allowed places, like California, to enable anyone, regardless of legal status, the ability to receive taxpayer funds for healthcare (not “emergency” care) and various other welfare programs. These are programs that are intended to assist less fortunate, the elderly, less able, etc. Americans. They are not intended to serve any and every individual of the world who decides they’re going to just stroll over our border illegally.

What the democrats have refused to pass is a Continuing Resolution (of the Biden era spending). There is nothing in the C.R. for the Republicans to take out, nothing to negotiate with as it neither adds nor removes anything from any program that was or wasn’t there the day before the C. R. was introduced.

What the democrats are demanding is that the greater restrictions from the BBB be removed, thus enabling the continuation of the loopholes they’ve been taking advantage of for the benefit of illegal aliens. Those claiming that it’s about extending the TEMPORARY expanded ACA subsidies (more accurately, premium tax credits) are lying. There’s a bill out there, HR 5145, right now that the democrats could sign, but refuse, that extends those for another year. If that’s what they actually want, as they claim, they’d sign on to it.

The democrats lost the election, they lost power. They are now throwing a temper tantrum at the expense of millions of Americans, including our men and women in uniform.

Instead of passing the short-term C. R. so that our representatives can continue to negotiate bills in normal order (appropriations), they’ve literally pounded their hands and feet on the floor, taken the ball, and ran home crying and screaming like petulant children.

On the so-called “Affordable Care Act”, it is a failure, period. It was not written to include temporary “premium tax credits”. The democrats added those in an attempt to prolong the life of a terrible healthcare program. They, the democrats, created temporary tax credits during COVID. They, the democrats, then wrote and passed legislation to temporarily extend those temporary tax credits via another failure of theirs, the Inflation Reduction Act. They, the democrats, had control of the government. If they were so concerned about the tax-paying ACA enrollees, why did they make them temporary, twice? They set this expiration date. Now, not only do they want socialized healthcare, they want it for everyone, including illegal immigrants.

I had the misfortune of seeing “socialized healthcare” first hand in CostaRica when my sister and I went to rescue our parents (mother and stepfather)

My brain blocks me from remembering most of that trip, it was literally that traumatic.

Suffice to say, neither of them would’ve survived the year under that “healthcare” system.

Sorry to hear that, Will, and I’m glad you were able to get them out of that system!

Brother, no joke, I come here and read your posts before I even check the news in the morning to get the most complete and accurate picture of what’s going on. And, you’re a great writer.

Thanks!

We as Americans have allowed these programs to be implemented to help our American Citizen Brothers and Sisters out when they are in need. We did not implement these programs to be abused by those from places that don’t take care of their very own Mexican or where ever they come from brothers and sisters.

Exactly! Newsolini bankrupted CA by giving free healthcare to illegal aliens. And they don’t go for preventative care or use anything other than the ER. Got a cold? Go to the ER. Got the trots? Go to the ER. Kidney stones? Take an ambulance ride to the ER.

Now he has a plan to make illegal aliens pay a whopping $30/mon. Most CA residents WISH they could get healthcare that cheap.

No, I wish you guys would stop with the BS and contorting whatever I say. I was advocating for due process, also the impact it will have on food supply if they didn’t pick it because Americans are to lazy too do it.

I did grow up on a farm. No, I have never had migrant workers on our farm; that was something you made up about me to make yourself feel better, and I didn’t correct you. I don’t care what you think about me. Yet I still try to help you see how to be a better person. I do, however, know people that do “use them.”

This is a repugnant assumption, and where your mind goes is not my reality. You wish to dehumanize me. We were talking and doing so well, then you turned it into hate bullshiat. I see I still have work to do in being a better human when it comes to you.
I was not knocking you or bringing any of the dipshit ideas you have into question. I was just talking through the idea of how and where the money is being spent. I will reiterate for you. The spending is for emergency care, since federal law largely prohibits undocumented immigrants from accessing other federally funded healthcare benefits.
Unable to handle the truth, Step out of your bubble, and breath in.

Again, @Mike164 I am not advocating free healthcare for undocumented people, just life-saving care.

This is what I was referring to, and I pointed out how the money that we do pay is spent for emergency life-saving care. I was taken aback by this idea of letting them die.

You did, like you always do. Always about killing everyone–man, you are so consumed by hate. I think you are reading the wrong parts of the Bible.

Maybe you three should talk. When I point it out I am a Demoncrat… No just a caring Human being .

Epstein files lock your pedos up.

reading the wrong parts of the Bible

Bible? Have you read it? You seem not to understand it. Our warrior brother has left more body parts on the field of battle than you ever had.
