“Federal funding for the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) nutrition program and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), also called food stamps, runs out on Saturday due to the government shutdown. The funding cut-off will hit illegal immigrants hard. The Center’s 2023 analysis of government survey data shows households headed by illegal immigrants make extensive use of the welfare system, particularly food assistance programs.
Among our prior findings:

Of households headed by illegal immigrants, CIS estimated that 59 percent use one or more welfare programs — cash, food assistance, Medicaid, or housing.

Illegal immigrant households have especially high use of food programs, with 48 percent enrolled in one or more of these programs — SNAP, WIC, or school lunch/breakfast.

In particular, our analysis found that 17 percent of illegal immigrant households used SNAP.

In addition to food programs, 18 percent of illegal immigrant households were enrolled in one of the cash programs; 4 percent were using a housing program; and 39 percent used Medicaid.

Illegal immigrants often receive welfare on behalf of U.S.-born children, and illegal immigrant children can receive school lunch/breakfast and WIC directly. Some states provide Medicaid to illegal immigrants, and a few offer SNAP. Several million illegal immigrants also have been issued Social Security numbers allowing them to receive cash payments from the earned income tax credit if they work.

Many immigrants have modest levels of education and low incomes, so suspension of WIC and SNAP will impact a large share of this population. But this situation raises important policy questions, including whether it makes sense to have an immigration system that allows in so many people who turn to taxpayers to support their children.

Why do I get the impression that we are Maximus to the Demoncrats Commodus.
For the past few years we’ve been taunted and belittled and in too many cases attacked and killed. Now I hear some administration officials are being relocated to military bases? This is unheard of!
What I want to know is when do we get to plunge the cheating dagger into the throat!
The time for honoring themselves is over!
In addition, unlike Maximus, we shouldn’t have to die in the process!
The day, the month, the year can’t come fast enough.

Oh Brother you are going to be sooooooooooooooooooo SATISFIED when the Credits of our movie start rolling! This is going to be Biblical (and we won’t have long to wait either). As great as watching ‘Commode’ getting the steel was, Denzel taking out the Russian Mob in Equalizer 1, or Barry Pepper shooting the Nazi Sniper through his own scope in SPR—the REAL DEAL is going to be a Pop the Bubbly event!. Was just at a grocery store listening to some welfare queen with 5 kids talk about how hard her life is because she has been raising kids nobody wants. I told her to send those kids back to the state instead of expecting me pay for them. Why would anyone be a foster parent if they can’t afford it on their own? Stop being a drain on society, losers.

Well after yesterdays election and the announcement that major airports will have to reduce the number of flights by 10% this administration is pure win. I am still giggling over all the people crying for food in the worlds wealthiest country, this shutdown has been the best entertainment in years.

Sure, I got this. Simple because their checks are still coming. Like the money we give to the big oil companies that make billions. We always sponsor greed first with bailouts and subsidies.

Personally, I feel the left is chock full of BS. And empty of patriotism.
I can promise, any soldier who misses a check will remember.
We have middle grade NCO’s making $30k under poverty level incomes, many relying on SNAP.
So when we have one return from deployment to an empty fridge and hungry kids, how’s the left going to explain?!!!

Musk’s new compensation package was just approved by Tesla, which can exceed $1 trillion. That is $275 million per day, for 10 years. Do we understand the real problem now? People like Musk don’t need another tax break. Owners of big business can afford to pay their employees enough money so that the govt doesn’t have to subsidize their lack of payroll through SNAP and health insurance.

Now that the shutdown is looking to end I hope all of you who were struggling without your SNAP benefits get them sooner than later. I also hope your ACA costs don’t double which looks like the trade for your SNAP benefits.
