Friday Fun: Favorite Time at the Range?

I love taking new shooters to the range too, @Ronnie1! Did they have a favorite gun or caliber?

The pastor is partial to 9mm, his eife seEms to prefer the .380. The 12 year old was actually drawn to my .45, go figure :grin:

LOL! Just goes to show that everyone has their own preference!

Hard to pick the “most fun time”. Any time at the range is a lot of fun for me. For me it’s usually most fun with my wife. Watching her hip shoot an old pump 12 gauge from the hip taking the lids off milk jugs from 7 yards is probably the most memorable and remarkable thing I’ve seen in person. A smallish, quiet and timid woman grinning ear to ear when I asked how she was doing that? Pistol or long gun…she’s quite deadly! hahaha!

Not a lot! I wished we had the equivalent of the NRA at the time, not that it would’ve made any difference since gun owners were a minority.

Gun crime did not reduce after the handgun ban (criminals don’t obey the law).

The well off (the target of the legislation) were allowed to keep their shotguns and rifles for hunting.

It’s now good to live in a country (and state) which allows me to own and enjoy shooting a wide variety of guns. Long may it continue.

I have to add that guns were never allowed to be used for self defence. The laws were very strict on storage and transport (to a range).

You know, you just made me realize something by saying the most fun you have is when your wife is there.

I don’t have as much fun by myself as I always think of it as training and running my drills.

The most fun is when I’m setting up my range as a shooting course for when the entire family comes at Thanksgiving. Setting targets, an obstacle and shooting course, 3d targets, thermite. During these family events I have so much fun without even firing a round myself. I just love seeing everyone having fun, as I’m busy being the RSO.
