Who's your favorite person to shoot with at the range?

My son texted me at work Monday - “Hey Mom, wanna go to the range one night this week after work?” I had one evening open, so we went to the range on Tuesday so he could shoot his AR and I could do some more training with my carry… and shoot his AR.

Who’s your favorite person to shoot with at the range?

BTW, I love to go to the range with all of my kids, not just this one! And he wears his USCCA shirts with pride, I didn’t ask him to wear it that night.

@Dawn

It was my grandfather, but he is no longer with us.

Now, I don’t have anyone so it’s usually just me. Before my friends all moved away we would all go. Call me loner… I still have fun though!

My wife. No doubt about it.

I like shooting with my son (15) as well (usually trap and .22LR)……I like shooting with my daughter (13) when she gets behind the AR15…(she’s naturally scary accurate with it and has this little giggle she does when she see’s her 1/4 MOA grouping compared to my 2 MOA)……there are a couple of RSOs I like shooting with as well……

But honestly…my favorite is me, myself, and I ………I like being focused going through the drills in my head and just being in the zone in general. I guess I’m weird that way. When I’m on the line I’m like that kid in Christmas story…don’t bother me, I’m thinking…lol.

Wow, who is my favorite to shoot with? I’d probably say my son because we don’t get many opportunities with him in northern OH and me in Louisville. I shoot more alone than with others because of convenience. I will often drop in for 100 rounds whenever I pass near the range which happens fairly often on my way back from several county courthouses. And I’m usually the best dressed there . Other than my son, I love making an evening of it with my wife, my brother (from another mother) and his wife and then going out for dinner and drinks at our favorite restaurant/bar right down the street. And then there’s a night out with guys from church at the range and out for a beer.

I love to shoot with my sons. Both still need some training, so I feel like a FATHER :muscle:
If they are not available (work, college) I like to shoot with my first trainer (former military and LEO, so I can still learn from him).

My wife. When she will go, and others are there, it’s entertaining to hand her a big revolver and the looks on their others faces. (She’s 5’3). Then, they see her shoot, and they aren’t smiling anymore, it’s more of an open jaw thing.

My sons. Doesn’t matter what we are shooting (shotguns, .22’s, pistols, rifles) they always find a way to make a competition out of it… which just makes it more fun.

My daughter. Never had a bad time at the range with her.

My granddaughter - it’s not that she’s fearless, but she rarely lets fear stop her. Not a gung-ho kinda thing, but really solid - “never done it before.” :grimacing: “Ok, I’ll try it.”

My hubby - I always learn something, and he seriously loves shooting more than just about everything.

Any of my friends - because its just really nice to either be reducing their fear and building their confidence, or hanging with other people who get it, and are having fun doing it.

My coach - because he’s gonna kick my butt in the best way possible. Him on the line with me… “alright Missouri, show Michigan whatcha got.”

My oldest son, he’s a park ranger. We get a little competition going. My step-dad as well, at 86, his skill still amazes me. He still could win a turkey shoot.

My pastor. Then we go to a cigar shop. Funny thing… we never talk about religion.

The range I go to is an out door range, and when I go, there is usually no one there, and I enjoy that. But there have been times I’ve gone to the range, and met strangers and had a great time with “new friends”.

My wife and son. I do not shoot much when they go but I’m perfectly content with that.
