First time handgun owner struggling to decide on a Glock

I started with one gun, then in a short time it spawned into multiple guns. Many will testify to this fact. It is not unusual for me to shoot 3 different hand guns and 2 different rifles in one range session.

Or, as one RSO told me, “you have too many guns!” LOL

I’ve never been told that, then again I dont go to a range. Now, my wife hasn’t been in my safe room downstairs.

It all started with wanting only 1 hunting rifle and a carry gun….lol

cant buy just one…..

Yep :+1:. Nowdays I try to limit range sessions to 2 handguns per trip or 1 rifle and 1 shotgun. But it depends on if I’m testing reloads and/or penetration/expression or accuracy or drills or just throwing lead downrange trying to improve speed ETC.

How MUCH have you really shopped? SMITHS, WALTHERS, & BERETTAs offer you significant features GLOCKs don’t. The SMITH M & Ps give you a no-tools grip change-out with FOUR panels to customize your grip-fit, WALTHERs really concentrate on ergonomics, too, and many models have polygonal rifling. BERETTA still offers their 25-year-old '“P x 4 Storm” with a rotating barrel that softens recoil. My regular dealer is GRABAGUN in Coppell TX - check out their online guns and ammo prices. Whatever you buy, add an extra magazine so you’ll have two reloads. Shop FALCO holsters first before you go elsewhere. Don’t fall in love with one gun - shop them like you’d shop cars,

Don’t be surprised… if we start offering all the models we like.. this thread will have no end… :joy:

If @Axms found that Glock’s grip angle works the best.. I don’t see any reason to look for anything else other than Glock itself or clones, that are actually better than Glocks… :slightly_smiling_face:

And…you aren’t married to it forever, or even for a day. Trying them at the range can limit making a lot of changes.

There’s one or more threads on here about what people have chosen to carry and why. Worth a look.

You cant go wrong with Glock. They go bang when you need them to. If you can overlook the short comings in factory mode. I cant.

Only factory glock I have is a G23. I shoot it but dont carry it.

I’ve been shopping for almost 2.5 months and its driving me a bit crazy. Some ranges I loved the 48 more than 19 and vice versa so I really do see your point of "triggers seem already more broken in”. Thanks for the advice!

Good, no impulse buying, no regrets.

If you’re in a free state, enjoy your selections. If you end up deciding on a Glock, make sure to look at the Ruger-Magpul RXM before taking the plunge.

My VP9SK… granted, I rarely see it on store shelves, it’s like a unicorn so when I saw it advertised, either I pass up and wait for months or buy it now and cry later. I didn’t cry though, I love it :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
