First Snow and the Law says Run Into Something

First real snow on top of the mountain, we jokingly say there must be a Utah State Law
Utah Code: OMgoMGwTf (Stolen from Wanda):
A driver operating a vehicle on any state, county, city or regional road must immediately, at the firs appearance of a snow flake, Run Into Something, be it a fixed substantial structure or a moving target…

Should be exciting tonight and tomorrow! Metro Denver and south along I-25 are getting our first real snow!!!

Should skirt slightly south of me, dumping huge amounts of snow, I don’t recall this morning’s estimate but I’m due for a “dusting” of 1-3” here on the north side.

I’ll probably throw a few sandbags in the bed of my Taco, just because I hate using 4WD for small amounts of snow and ice.

And for the unfamiliar; 4WD only means 4 wheel GO, not 4 wheel STOP or TURN!

Nothing but rain in E. Central WI. for the last 24 hours, broke our drought but really screwed the Farmers that didn’t get their crops harvested yet, be a good week before the fields can be driven on.
I got caught in a squall today filling gas cans, strait line winds blew the rain right under the roof at the pumps, had to come home and strip everything into the dryer.

Stinks for the farmers for sure, but also good that there was some drought relief.

Agreed :+1: 100%. Annually, shot-term memory loss, or amnesia from one winter weather season to the next. Many forget to put on their true winter snow tires vs the not really “all session” tires, or think about how to adjust their driving to the lack of traction snow brings. Just slow down, you cannot stop as fast, allow more time, increase following and stopping distances, don’t do anything as abruptly as if the pavement is clear and dry, it doesn’t work like that on snow.

Been trucking around the country for the last 40 years. It seems to get worse every year, people just do not pay attention! Never been in a wreck, but had some close calls. People running 70mph in an ice storm👍.

In Nor-Cal, truckers behavior has deteriorated.
