Waist! hahaha
Welcome
I have yet to purchase a firearm (in training now and also bought a SIRT for training at home) SIRT 110 - Next Level Training I would like to get a holster or used holster to use with this model. This will be for training only. (The firearm I am training on at the range and am considering for purchase is a 380 EZ: https://www.smith-wesson.com/product/shield-ez-180023). Thanks for any advice.
Any holster for Glock17 will accept SIRT110.
For practice with SIRT I wouldn’t spend a lot of money, however I will still use kydex, not any cheap Amazon holster.
Something within $50 should be enough, no specific manufacturer.
Find out how do you want to carry and buy the holster for such method.
Thanks, I will look into the kydex.
Thank you.
A SIRT is a great investment. As one of my trainers said, 90% of shooting is in the trigger manipulation. SIRT helps with that. In fact, they told a story of a basic pistol course they taught. Best new shooter in the class was a woman who worked at a church (Mennonite IIRC) and may have not even owned a gun. Instructors asked her how she got so good. She had a SIRT pistol and kept it in her desk at the church. She pulled it out very frequently and practiced with it.
Great story. I am working between range sessions with the SIRT. I am having some issues on the range with keeping the gun steady (S&W 380EZ); seem to be dipping down (maybe fatigue?). I need to work on trigger-control and maybe a firmer grip to keep the firearm rock-steady. The SIRT is helping me identify weak areas in the fundamentals.
When it is dipping down? During taking the shot? Or each next shot is lower?
During taking the shot. In the last session, my instructor drew five small circles (about 3" in diameter each) onto the target paper and numbered each. He then took it out to about five yards. I then fired off five shots in succession and in numerical sequence; only nailing one. The others were kinda close, but low. I like how he is forcing me to shoot smaller and smaller targets. I am not sure if this is from aiming dead center or too much movement on the target. I practice with small targets with the SIRT and seem to be pretty accurate, but no recoil, of course. I am thinking the range scenario might be more anticipation and jerking or maybe fatigue (this was at the end of this session and I fire 100 to 150 rounds during our hour of training). He mixes up targets and distances throughout the hour.
That is a typical problem for most shooters. If your shots at small target are low, it can be caused by one of these:
- recoil anticipation
- trigger control
- solid grip
I cannot fix it not being there, so work with your Instructor. Shooting small circles is a good idea, however I will go with even smaller circles (1.5" - 2") from closer distance.
The other advice - 100 rounds during 1 hr may be too much if you practice at small circles.
I will suggest to spend more time checking your grip and dry firing at those circles and confirm your front sight doesn’t move at all and is constantly centered at that circle while you press the trigger. That is the reason to use very small circle - you focus better on smaller target and it gives you better reference for your moving or stable sights. Be sure once you find the trigger wall, you check the sight picture and alignment again just before taking the shot. Don’t press harder than required, use minimum force to break the shot. Once you or Instructor verify that all is good and steady - then you load live ammo and repeat those steps again.
When you go slow and easy, it won’t take more than 50 rds during 1 hr session.
Good luck !

@Jerzees Great points and advice. Thanks for the tips!
I bought a cheap holster either Amazon or eBay, not for one of my guns but for the 110 Sirt. One for a Glock. Might consider that and get a gun holster after you get your gun, unless you know which gun you’re getting for sure
Tier 1 for edc and Safariland for everything else.
I carry AIWB and really like the Stealth Phenom. First, I purchased one for my Canik Mete MC9. Yesterday, I added a new firearm in the Glock 48X MOS so ordered a holster for it today.
Both are fuzz-lined kydex, both have the standard moclaw and I ordered/use an extra magazine carrier for both.
They’re compact, quiet, secure and include adjustable cant
