Also, no grip safety, no thumb safety, no magazine to lock out, no trigger safety, and interchangable grips

But, There is just something about a hammerless revolver
that looks unfinished… left out a part or two.
I see the purpose in it but my warped brain say’s ‘wait a minute’.
Joseph this picture and descriptions make sense. Less parts, simpler design, Clean looks I GET it
And it’s a SMITH! so nuff said there 
I just also can’t see (5) or (6) rounds being enough in the current climate we live in today.
that’s just me though and I accept that. I NEED a magazine fed handgun on me to feel secure.
As I said (for me) a revolver is great (as a back up piece) but (12)-(17) + extra mags is more comforting.
I don’t expect to get in gunfights like I did (anymore), but I still feel it’s a very messy world we live in today
and whatever it takes to feel secure I’m going to do that.
Simple is great and complicated over stuffed handguns could get you in trouble.

I totally get it about your revolver comments! I couldn’t agree more that it does look a little wrong without the exposed hammer. It makes perfect sense for a quick draw pocket gun, which is what it is, and it’s often the most I can carry in a gun-restricted work environment, but 5 shots is way to few to really feel secure. That awful video of the police lady being attacked reinforced that point. For that reason, I do have a magazine fed M&P that I carry if my clothing allows. The revolver is still in my pocket.
When I get the money, though, I will be buying a 686+ with the 7 round cylinder! Great for walks inbthe woods 
To me, the 686 is the perfect looking revolver.

One book that’s supposed to be required reading for Border Patrol cadets is NO SECOND-PLACE WINNER! by Bill Jordan, legendary agent and one of Elmer Keith’s close buddies. This short critique on gun-fighting is just as informative and useful to us today in the vastly larger, civilian shooting public - Jordan LIVED through it, and saw it ALL! I read some years ago that he had more of a passing interest and influence in the design of the S & W Model 19 .357, and Don Hume’s “Border Patrol” holster for it. FYI

Fabulous! Now a Seven shot (686+!) Oh My GOD HEAVEN!'I just don’t need anymore guns @ this time(Oh SH–! did I just say that? Somebody call a Medic! Take my vitals!, maybe I had a Brain Bleed! I just hope the fed who took that piece and added it to his collection was a White hat and kept her beautiful.
She was a good gun. I miss her

Same. It’s a whole hell of a lot better than no gun, and the stats say most defensive gun uses are solved with no shots fired, but, 20% average hit rate + handguns can often take multiple (good) hits to stop even a single attacker, and often attackers are in groups…5 with a slow and difficult reload (vs a semi auto) starts to lose a lot of its appeal as a primary

I like me a J-frame.
Just not really as a primary, unless it’s really getting into very niche situations. 
But with the advent of the 365/Shield Plus/Hellcat/etc, it’s slipping away. My Shield Plus mostly goes where the 642 used to

I get it. Like I’ve said in other threads, my 642 is my basine pocket gun that goes with me everywhere, in a DeSantis pocket holster. Still, I do keep looking at some of the small pocket autos and thinking hard about them. I will have to rent some and try them.
I have a matched pair of 642’s with different grips for different carry, and I’m so practiced and fast with them that it’s hard to imagine changing to a different platform. I can point shoot from draw at waist level to a 6" 3 shot group in under a second at 6 yards.
Having said that, I’m sitting here with a Shield semi auto on my hip.

I dont like trigger disconnects, I believe only my Ruger Mark4 has that feature but when I upgrade the trigger, i will be removing that disconnect…
My first carry gun, a Ruger P95 PR, I was wanting a hammer fired SA/DA pistol carried in the hammer down position for a full pull on the first shot and then SA from then on out…

My carry is very diverse…
My most favorite hated safety of any firearm is the S&W M&P back-strap safety. The 1911 safety is nice and easy but the S&W version is garbage… Good pistols and something I’ll recommend to a new person as long as it fits their hand and I emphasize lots of training for that back-strap safety.
