Do you carry trauma kit?

Yes! both of these in the trunk and in house!
The red trauma I got at LApolice gear on sale for I think around 15?
The blue I picked up a couple of these, when Sports Chalet was going out of business
(and now I just update the contents as they get old)!

Yes the stuff in those kits will get old and become useless!

Thanks. I’m looking at the one in the USCCA Store as a starter but I haven’t made my mind up yet.

Thanks for sharing. It’s an excellent idea to have a trauma kit in the vehicle for any eventuality including regular accidents. Now I’ll have to go get one myself and put it in my truck.

I just made my own medical kit recently and I’m pretty proud of it. Readyman.com had some sales on their RATS gen 2 tourniquets and picked up a few to add it to the kit.

Anyone carrying the Warrior Poet ankle trauma kit that can speak to it’s quality for the cost? It seems a little pricey to me but is less conspicuous than the Bat Man utility belt or the bulging cargo pants, and if it’s quality they went for then I can respect that.

As far as trauma kits for EDC, I must admit I have let this skillset slide in recent years. I was a WFR for years as a field technician in various third world countries and on group wilderness trips. I actually was just thinking of re-certifying for some WFR/EMT/Trauma skills when I saw this thread so now I’m really inspired to get on it.

The last gear I bought for trauma was a Voodoo Tactical trauma/IFAK pouch I found on sale a few years ago. It’s your run of the mill trauma kit in a nicer pouch basically. I will dump it and see where improvements may be made. All my other med kits are usually upgraded premade kits or self made kits, depending on the cost of items at the time. Sometimes it’s cheaper to just get a generic kit then put money into that great tourniquet or shears or Israeli bandage that you like most, add a Titan blanket, add your specific medicants, add your preferred tapes and pens… Add the items you feel meets the mission of the kit.

The WPS ankle kit appeals to my minimalist side. It’s enough to Stop the Bleeding for a single person until evac. That very likely represents the vast majority of events one would need to prepare for, at least while we have rule of law. I would also consider adding a softie tourniquet for children. It would be a tragedy to have a fancy RAT/CAT and all the training but it simply won’t fit easily to a child’s appendage size.

I’m not sure if I can do the ankle kit. I wouldn’t want anything wrapped around my ankle but that’s just my own opinion. If someone can do it then that’s awesome and I want them to be my friend and always follow me aroundšŸ˜‚
