The article says “A police report said Corrigan was shot multiple times, including in the chest, abdomen and right arm. He was initially conscious and able to answer questions, but his condition quickly declined.”
I currently carry two chest seals in my vehicle. I am now thinking that might not be enough. Costco obviously has plastic bags readily available, but I’m guessing nobody there thought about that.
I’d say being ventilated and bleeding out that ‘decline’ would be rapid. I betcha folk’s stood around like a herd watching one of their own puddle the floor from a Big Cat attack. ‘He was such a nice guy..’ well? did you DO ANYTHING to help? ‘I filmed his last moments on Earth!’ . Priceless!.
@Gary_H Two Combat Dressings are enough My friend, if you need more use the wrap from those dressings (that’s why I carry an XL Bandana also to tie something down if necessary.
As for it being in a Costco my antenna went up being that I think Big Bucks stores may be the Next TARGETS!. Where else can you hit a low security building at the end of the day and snare @ least a Million dollars?— so I’ve heard from somebody somewhere? . I’m sorry to admit this but I do not relax once I get through the front doors of anyplace anymore. Costco has zero deterrent except ‘Sir, you can’t bring that Bazooka in here’… Well, I’ll just put it in the car then. Duh. Did this dead guy actually pull a pocket knife on the Armed guy?
Two chest seals is enough. If you have vented - you actually have 4 seals (once you unstick them you have 2 vented and 2 not-vented).
However most of gunshots are not pass-through, so no needs for more.
Carrying a roll of duck tape is a good option - it’s one of the best emergency item
What do you mean by that? Real First Responders, or regular people trying to save him?
First Responders don’t need to use plastic bags… obviously.
Regular person, who doesn’t have any experience with gunshot wounds, would never think about plastic bag being helpful… however plastic bag without any tape does nothing.. you can do everything with your hands with the same result.
Anyway… I wouldn’t blame anybody for lack of knowledge. They tried, they failed… this is the most common scenario
TRUTH! Decisions have Consequences—(even Corporate ones) You take the Second Amendment (i.e: OUR RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS) AND VOCALLY GO AGAINST IT!, Leave your establishment open to Crime and Lawlessness—DO NOTHING to PROTECT your ‘Members’ and then something like this (or worse) happens don’t go Buh, Buh, Buh’ing to us that GUNS BAD!, Disarmament and all that other Socialist noise–because that is all it is NOISE!.
My ‘run-in’s’ with a particularly nasty 300 lb. Door Pitbull @ Costco are well documented here. She almost drove me away but multiple complaints from Moi and she is now checking the Gauges on all refrigeration (sometimes it pays to be the squeaky wheel!) . My last attempt at running the gauntlet with a firearm I said out loud 'YOU NEED TO PUT SIGNS UP OUT FRONT SAYIN ‘NO GUNS ALLOWED’—well they responded ‘It’s in our membership page rules’… YOU STILL NEED SIGNS . I see Concealed Carry folk’s all the time in Costco. We share a look and a smile occasionally.
Confronting an Armed person in todays environment is a good way to get dead these days (as we can all see clearly from exhibit A)
