Meanwhile in Colorado, new requirements for RENEWING CHP just went into effect.

Now we have to take an 8 hour class with live fire every five years instead of just for the initial application.

Eh, sorry Will. Thankfully they haven’t yet stripped your right to carry entirely, which I’m guessing is their desire.

Fixed that for ya, with the new training for purchase requirements coming into effect next year.its clear our democrat party leadership is out to turn firearms ownership into a crime for all but the elite.

Correction valid and excepted without rebuttal. :slightly_smiling_face:

Maybe you’ll have an opportunity to vacate the state before they turn you into a criminal.

Unfortunately, unless I’m willing to give up my 24 years of seniority and short change my retirement, I’m stuck in Denver for another 15 years. :man_shrugging:

Hopefully we can get this state fixed before then.

In the meantime I am no longer looking to buy a retirement property in Colorado anymore.

We have to do our initial certification, a refresher and live fire test after 2 years, and then the full course and live fire test after another 2 years. Never ending cycle if you want to keep your license.

We have to apply, sit a a class room for a couple of hours then send money every 5 years.

I can almost understand the refresher course for renewing.

But the full course, written test and live fire?

And that’s still a totally different class from the one we will now have to do every 5 years just to buy a new semiautomatic over .22 rimfire.

If the government had to pay for anything that is an infringement on our 2A right, I wonder if they would still do it?

Yeah. It’s weird for sure. The licenses are issued for 4 years, but they can and will terminate your license if you don’t submit proof of the refresher. Then, once the license is expiring, it’s basically the same process as getting the license in the first place, minus the fingerprinting.

Colorado was just a one and done class, however, you needed to submit your renewal paperwork far enough in advance that they could do the background BEFORE your current license expires…. So 3-4 months in advance.

Like I said, I could understand a refresher after 5 years…. Not the full course.

But a refresher at 2 years on a 4 year license? Then the full course at 4? :face_with_raised_eyebrow: like you have to do would irk me even more!

Who’s racketeering scheme is this?
