I always carry at home, even when I’m working on projects around my property. I’m currently building a room addition on my house and I still carry while working. It’s a pretty good test of your setup.
I always carry in and around the house. I’m not one for having to run somewhere to get a staged firearm. The best place to stage it is in my holster. I know some who stage rifles or shotguns. Some say that the handgun is what you use on your way to retrieve your rifle. Unless there’s some type of political uprising or rioting taking place, my long guns stay in the safe and my EDC is with me and should be sufficient for most home defense scenarios.
