Thinking positive here, you might find shooting left handed will become second nature for you and you’ll get as good as right handed. That would he a nice secondary outcome.

Thank you. I got cortisone shots in January that made me feel like I had a new hand. Unfortunately, they have worn off … not trying to sound like a pity party - I am thankful for what I have.

I changed to left pocket carry starting yesterday. It’s not fancy, but I’m leaning towards this left hand holster:
It looks like it will be easy to clip on with one hand and keep my current pocket configuration stable. I’ve been dry firing left handed, but I am hoping to get to the range to practice draw and live fire before the surgery.
That’s gonna be gnarly for sure. It reminds me of the open procedure they did on my left 8 years ago.

The $22 LH holster arrived today. After wearing it several hours today including assembling a Bed Bath & Beyond table for my wife, I am pleasantly surprised at how comfortable it is 
Now you gotta get a second matching pistol, so you can go full New York reload left and right side 
The idea has crossed my mind
I have thought about getting a matching left hand OWB holster for one I often use on my right side.
I have a matched pair of J frame revolvers. My wife and I often walk in the woods. It’s not uncommon for me to carry both guns, one loaded with hard cast heavy wildlife ammo in case of four and two legged threats, and one with snake shot for the no-legged ones (the one that carries the wildlife loads has rubber grips, the other has wood, so I won’t accidentally shoot a boar with snake shot 
).
Right now I have a pair of pocket holsters for left and right side, but OWB is more comfortable for long walking, especially in Florida heat.
Wish I could do that here. We’re limited to one carry pistol.
Those kinds of laws are ridiculous. Seriously, where does the second amenent say “the right of the people to keep and bear only one arm, shall not be infringed?”
It says “arms” with an S!
If these don’t resemble an RPG, they’re probably inadequate.

Sorry. Probably wasn’t super clear. I can open carry as much as I want. It’s our concealed carry law that limits to 1 concealed pistol.
Not that that’s a whole lot better, but…
Hmmm. You’ve got my attention brother Zold. I carry these in the woods. When I’ve tested them at 3 or 4 yards they blow a nice clean 3-4" hole in cardboard, and lodge very deep in wood. I wouldn’t expect to hit a snake head with a single bullet, but hope a few quick shots of these would stop a copperhead or diamondback.
What are your thoughts?

Really though, those would do the trick. If not, flip the shotgun around and hulk smash it in a worst case scenario lol
Me and diamondbacks have always gotten along - they use those rattles to let you know they don’t want to hurt you, but keep on coming and they will. Every time I’ve seen a copperhead they are clearing out of the area. Cottonmouths, those are the ones that I’ll admit I kill every one I see. They will chase you and do their best to kill you for no good reason.
For full transparency, I’ve had a couple of friends that kept and milked numerous venomous snakes to produce anti-venom (and income). One of them got bit by his green mamba. He was able to contain the snake while he called 911. They administered the anti-venom he had on hand and took him to the hospital. He later told me he literally wished he could die for 3 days!
Edit: I always keep a golf club around to manage non-venomous snakes that make my wife nervous. It’s a valuable tool my snake buddies told me to use years ago. They (the snake) feel comfortable with the golf club and it is usually easy to either get them on the club and walk them out of the area, or get them in a bucket with a lid for transport to a new location. I prefer a 3 iron as it has a long shank 
I admit I used to kill every snake I ran across. Then, as my previous post, I met people that made me more comfortable with snakes - my wife still can’t get over it
My Dad felt comfortable with snakes, he would catch every rat snake he could and put them in the barn. They used to scare the be-Jesus out of me as a kid.
I shot a rattlesnake with bird shot out of a 12ga @ 6 feet and all it did was move it about 6 feet from where it was. I had to use a pistol to shoot its head off and the head and tail were both still alive.
Wow, I wouldn’t have expected that outcome from 12G birdshot.
Yeah, it’s the cottonmouths that scare me the most. I like non venomous snakes being around the yard. We have the regular population of friendlies. We live in an old house, built in an ancient Cypress stand with water out behind, so we get a lot of wildlife on our property. In the yard it’s the cotton mouths and coral snakes that make me most nervous, though I’ve never seen a coral snake here, it’s their perfect habitat. I have seen cottonmouths down at the water. Never shot one, but I stayed well back and just let them move along.
