Carpal tunnel and pistols

Wow, I wouldn’t have expected that outcome from 12G birdshot.

Yeah, it’s the cottonmouths that scare me the most. I like non venomous snakes being around the yard. We have the regular population of friendlies. We live in an old house, built in an ancient Cypress stand with water out behind, so we get a lot of wildlife on our property. In the yard it’s the cotton mouths and coral snakes that make me most nervous, though I’ve never seen a coral snake here, it’s their perfect habitat. I have seen cottonmouths down at the water. Never shot one, but I stayed well back and just let them move along.

Yeah, corals seem to like to stay covered and just want to be left alone - kind of like some of the folks around here  The only one I have come across was in Orlando. My wife made me put a flower bed outside our bedroom window. I was replacing the mulch when I uncovered it. It was not aggressive, but I was! It was me or him and he lost! My fear was having it around my wife, kids, and the dog …

Yeah, I’ve still got a big pile of hurricane tree debris off on one side along a fence line, left over from last season. The bigger limbs become firewood, but I need to rent a big trailer and haul all the non-firewood crap to the landfill. That pile scares me. All kinds of nasties could be in there.

About the RPG that I mentioned…

I saw that. Horrifying. Between bears, boars and alligators there are definitely a few big four legged critters in Florida to watch out for.

This is what I carry for the threats that walk or run, not crawl, in the woods around here.
