I’d look into an alien gear shape shift for such carry with their adjustable retension.

Not a steering column mount, but mounts on the floor or on a console… loving my Jotto holster. Saw it in CC magazine.

There are quite a few on Amazon, I think they are pretty generic and likely all made in the same factory.
