For me, the only real reasons that I would go are 1) It might be something to do on a day with no better plans, and 2) It may be an opportunity to see and put my hands on something that I may otherwise not be able to do.
The last one I went to had American and German Sub. Guns from WW2 and a big sign. Do Not Touch" WTFâŠ
Well, thatâs unfortunate. Suppose that if they were real, I understand, but still
At least put them behind glass and not out in the open and within reach.
May be they donât want anybody taking parts, or leaving corrosive fingerprints like rare book sections off major libraries have you wear gloves if the paper predates the era where that not a problem.
I bought some ammo at a show last year at internet prices, but no shipping, so I was happy. Entry was $8.00, so could say that was shipping.
I plan to go to one in December. I intended to sell some parts and a 25 caliber pistol, but already sold most of the parts word of mouth. I still want to sell the pistol, but want to be sure the show provides FFL services.
I went to a few back when I was a new gun owner.
I liken it to going to the movies for a couple hours without the expensive popcorn
I imagine I would still have fun but I havenât been to one since the plandemic.
I havenât been to one in a handful of months but enjoy going when I can. I usually look for military surplus or items that I donât see anywhere else. I have been specifically looking for Vietnam-era Zippos with Snoopy on them as my kid loves Snoopy. Things like that can still be had for better prices there vs eBay. I also enjoy talking with the more seasoned gentleman and hearing their stories.
As long as I have your attention, could you check and see why my like indicator is missing from most of my posts. I still get a notification on my avatar but no like count and who gave them. Thanks.
I have to âRELOADâ to see when you guyâs post âLikedâ.
As for the Gun shows:
I will never go again.
I posted here months back when I went to my last one.
Rio Rancho, New Mexico Events Center.
1st) The Statie almost disarmed me @ the door I had to empty the one in the pipe
AND take all da Boolitâs outta my Magâs (3) One in the side arm, and the (2) in the separate holder.
THEN he âMADE MEâ Zip tie the firearm with the slide back. IF ATTACKED Iâd be dead. $8.00 entry fee,
Sucky over priced food, loads of Meh! Tee shirts, hoodies and basically two Caliberâs .9mm and .22â
All way over priced.
I did find my Sister a 'Rock Island .38 Revolver (last one) for $249.00 (or $229.00 canât remember) It was worth it. then my DoD Clearance fowled me up (again) and I had to wait (5 days_ to call them to pick it up @ their dinky shop because they forgot about me!. Took my Bread, but just forgot to call.
Totally unsatisfying experience.
OH! Lest we not forget the UNDERCOVER Federaleâs roaming around while people were trying to purchase some guns. Totally Obvious! One dik decided to look over my shoulder and got the finger for his troubles. If I wanted a colonoscopy Iâd go to my local Prison.
NEVER AGAIN.
Mine only happened the last couple of days. Since Tyler was here.
The âreloadâ worked.
I would go if I had nothing to do and maybe if I was looking for an antique firearm. Other than that I stay away from gun shows.
Havenât been to a gun show in about 15 years. Got sick and tired for folks asking retail for a POS gun and sellers dont even want to negotiate.
I can buy cheaper online
I used to build sporters off mauser actions and used to be able to find good deals. Back then they wanted pre-64 prices on a beat up mark X action. Cant imagine prices now
Never been to one. I wanted to when gun shows were off the radar of most states and fed agencies. I more or less think of them as bad yard sales now.
Even 5 years ago I found the prices ridiculous, the last things I bought were a small leather holster and a 2qt. canteen carrier.
We drove 30 miles to one after the plandemic, we get there and see a âno guns allowedâ sign. WTF⊠Stuck my head in the door and told them âyou just lost our F-ing moneyâ. We went out to lunch and the local Goodwill.
Never been. Never going to go. Thatâs as safe to me as a street motorcycle ride with people I donât know.
Not in a while, and with Colorado passing the unconstitutional 3 day waiting period itâs pointless to ever go again.
Never been, no need, I have plenty of mom/pop gun shops to visit that always have something interesting.
I took an elderly gentleman in my community to a couple this past year, he buys magazines and other accessories along with paying for parking and our admission. Once he has what he wants weâre out of there so I have never seen it all. Pointless for me to go for a firearm purchase because my Federal HR-218 permit is useless for same day purchase in Floridađ€Ź
