CA upcoming CCW requirements

But California has the best weather in America! Why not just take it back to what it once was before the Teachers Union took control over it! We are looking for a new state to move to but the weather is nothing like it is here. I wish Arkansas wasn’t sticking in summer and frozen in winter with tornado tossed in. Arizona is the best I’ve found but Californian corrupted it with liberal leaving the mess they created in California? Also if Newsom is elected president or Biden either way poverty and inequality with firearm confiscation will happen. So where you live won’t matter because China will be in charge of us.

Welcome to the community @Timothy319

I was just in CA for a week for the holidays. It rained every day and I think we saw the sun for a total of 30 minutes. It always feels cold, damp and grey along the coast in the winter to me. Add in the smoke from Spring - Fall from the frequent forest fires enhanced by the frequent droughts, the year round smog near the cities and in the Valley and flooding when it does rain. It all makes me feel that CA’s perfect weather is more than a bit over rated.

There are some great places to visit in CA and spots and times when the weather is very nice. There are many good people there as well despite all the insanity running the State into the ground. But I just don’t see it as the Utopia many make it out to be.

Without the massive manipulation of the local environment and massively expensive water relocation and management projects most of the cities in CA wouldn’t be able to exist and are going to be very expensive to keep in existence into the future. Though that can be said about many of the cities in this country especially those in the Southwest.

Hello and welcome @Timothy319

Are there really that many people in CA that support the people that are elected? It seems y’all are taxed through the bum, and have so many liberties restricted that y’all would be throwing these tyrants out on their ears. From Newsom on down!

Yes. And many of those people want gun control. Now to look at the type of people… CA has laxed crime punishment laws. Many criminals, or yet to be convicted are liking those laws and supporting representatives that push for laxed prosecution AND gun control. It means those voters can keep the pool of victims at bay since the victims tend to get prosecuted for defending themselves rather than the criminals punished for a crime. I say the Dems in CA are mostly supported by criminals now.

Just got notice this evening that the 9th Circus court over turned the injunction. Essentially all of SB2 will go into effect at midnight. This will make a lot of CCW folks be unable to carry where they used to carry. Be interesting to see the end result. CCW folks carrying in the local park will essentially be committing a felony while other carrying will only be a misdemeanor.

@Derek35 The NM Governor is doing the same to our public parks, in the name of public health safety emergency. Slowly, sneaking in more gun free zones, just imposing it at a different angle.

Can anyone tell me what the consequences are if you get caught carrying with CCW in crapifornia sensitive locations which is now the whole state? Felony? Misdemeanor? Citation and fine? I can’t find a solid answer on this. Thanks.

Where did you read it’s a felony? I’ve been trying to find out for sure what the actual penalty is for carrying with CCW in the new sensitive locations which is everywhere! Thanks for the help. I have some choices to make on this!

I have not read the actual SB2, but from what I have heard, it is a felony to carry in a “sensitive” area if one has a CCW. Yet, if carrying and one does not have a CCW, then it is a misdemeanor.

Crazy part is that the sensitive areas include the public parks, walkways and streets and adjacent streets. Thus, for me to drive out my neighborhood passing the park down the street, I would essentially be committing a felony; and I do not even have to stop or exit the vehicle.

SB2 was written to an extreme case that basically says where CCW used to carry, now becomes illegal unless posted otherwise. Oh, and entering that gun store / shooting range that shares a parking lot with a “sensitive” place, such as a bank or post office or daycare/tutoring facility, makes the parking lot and adjacent streets and walkways all “sensitive” areas and thus, would be a felony charge.

Numerous Sherriff offices have been anti-SB2 since its inception.

Wait. Is that a typo The punishment is worse if you do have CCW then if you don’t??

@Josh52 Welcome to the community, so it appears that Commifornia is illegally, and unconstitutionally shooting (without a firearm) for CCW law abiding citizens disarmament by conviction of a FELONY if caught carrying in these sensitive locations so that they won’t be able to legally purchase a firearm NOR PASS a background check anymore. GUN CONTROL AT YOUR SERVICE. WE’RE FROM THE GOVERNMENT, AND WE’RE HERE TO HELP YOU! It’s a TRAP to take away everyone’s 2A RIGHTS and NOTHING MORE! These are ROGUE, TYRANIAL, UNCONSTITUTIONAL LAWS being ILLEGALLY IMPOSED upon ALL Law abiding Citizens. A non-ccw stupid IDIOT accidently carrying into a sensitive location ONLY gets charged with a misdemeanor (slap on the wrist), just don’t do it again :poop:. BLUE STATES are going ROGUE, and not following Federal Law.

Ridiculous. I can’t wait til I move America (aka Tennessee).

Correct. One reason why SB2 is so inane. The “sensitive” locations section does absolutely nothing to stop the criminals, but does everything against CCW. CA wants to have no one but law enforcement and body guards to carry. Especially now that we have no CCW instructors - oh yea, SB2 eliminated those with NRA certs to not be allowed to teach CCW.

And they tie the hands of law enforcement by making felonies misdemeanors

You mean police and criminals can carry. Insane.

In CA, the police are there to “protect” the citizens. Why would anyone want to defend themselves when the police are available? I just have to have the criminal “wait” for a responding officer when they start committing a crime. - sarcasm clearly intended.

In Salt Lake City you are talking about…

This for the first half of last year, staffing has decreased and crime has increased (even if they say it hasn’t) so I imagine it worse now than it was in June.

Seems like the criminals could order a pizza and commit as many crimes as they could get away with before the police showed up.
