Best belt for appendix carry

What is the best belt for appendix carry…looking for one for both everyday wear as well as casual wear.

I have had a Hanks belt for years until I decided to make my own belt. I took the thickness of a Hanks belt and doubled it and had it stitched. It is a nice looking but very strong belt. I do not think I will ever need another belt.

My preference is a Kore Essentials Tactical with an X7 buckle, https://www.koreessentials.com/collections/new-tactical-sets-1-5.

They also have smooth leather for more formal applications and buffalo leather for casual boot days.

I use a Nextbelt. Its adjustable in 1/4" increments

How do ya’ll appendix carry without the muzzle jamming into your thigh when you sit down? Seriously, I can get the best concealment standing that way for sure, but can not make it work when I have to move or sit. Right now I’m sitting comfortably with an M&P shield IWB at 3:00. If I move it to 1:00 it’s impossible to keep the muzzle out of my leg. What am I missing?

Another vote for Kore with X7 buckle.
Works great for appendix carry.

Try shifting it to 12 O’clock.

I’m not 100% good with 12:00, seems like there’s more important equipment @12:
Maybe it’s me, but 1:00 or 12:00 that’s a lot of blood loss, should something go wrong. I’ll stick with 3:00 IMHO
However, best belt is one that provides the best support possible for the equipment you’re carrying!

Seriously, or are you kidding?

I have a holster from Keepers concealment. I carry a Shield plus with a 4" barrell no issue at all. These were designed for Apoendix carry.

Appendix carry has been always a compromise between comfort, safety and speed.
Not every handgun can be carried that way and not every body shape allows to do so.

I think any handgun with barrel up to 4" is ok to be carried appendix. With good holster you can sit without any problems. Most of good AIWB holsters get a belt holders adjustments to setup how high you want to carry it on the belt.
Additionally, with “ratchet belt” (Nextbelt, Kore) you can loosen belt up with one hand and move your holster higher while sitting.

If you are really concerned about pointing muzzle into any part of your body, appendix carry is not for you then.

Serious. Especially if you are not carrying a micro.

If you intend to carry at 12 o’clock you need to practice arching your back when you draw. Lessens the chance of “collateral” damage.

Yeah! That’s what she said ! Arch your back, before you draw :joy:

By no means is that 12:00 package, collateral damage!

I run 2 different belts, USCCA Nexbelt and a 511 tactical. They both work fine for me. Do you have a wing attached to your holster? That may make a difference.

Where did you get yours? I want one.

No, I can’t do 12:00. I’m not terribly comfortable at 1:00 as well, considering my femoral artery is right down there. I have a couple different kydex IWB holsters with adjustable height, and just can’t get them to work for AIWB. My gun has a 3.7" barrel. I guess I’ll stick with IWB and OWB on the hip at 3:00, depending in what I’m wearing and doing.

There is no “one size fits all” in anything having to do with concealed carry. That’s why there are several thousand (if not more) holsters, mag carriers, belts, etc. You just have to find what works for you.
