Barrel Block

well they wanted me to leave a review on this Barrel Block. but when i hit review it made me sign in then, i was not at any review area, so i decided to leave it here…
Its pretty kool. i usually go to the range to practice, then i got some dummy rounds for home practice. with the ammo prices. and gas prices who can go anywhere…ha. so i saw these and thought id give them a try. well, you definitely aren’t going to get any live rounds in there, when working with this thing, that’s for sure.im a pretty safe guy, i check and check and check again, to make sure there’s no rounds in firearm and anywhere around when i’m practicing, at home in my room. draw and fire. it’s probably for the beginner. but try it. its for everyone. accidents happen, so i like it and give it a 5 star…i was going to put a picture. but i cant seem to figure that out. hahha. Carry Be Safe and God Bless…

Overall, I am not a fan of barrel blocks or flags where the intent is to dry fire practice with the firearm. In my mind it just opens a pathway to a fatal accident. I prefer a SIRT for dry fire. Plus the laser provides some great feedback.

I don’t use the barrel block that much. I do most all my practice at the outdoor range, can’t beat the REAL DEAL…

Also on SSI. I used to go through 150-200 rounds per range visit. At today’s ammo prices (9mm) that comes to at least $100/visit (3X/month) or roughly $400/month overall including range time. Now I dry fire extensively (at home) at least 1 hr/day, targeting specific skills, known issues, etc. “Train with a Goal!” Once a month I go to the range and shoot 20-25 rounds (very slowly and carefully paced) to quantify and verify my skill level and identify deficiencies or other areas for improvement - then its back to dry firing. Net result is I am saving at least $300/month. Makes that SIRT pretty reasonable. Checkout the USCCA Laser TRAIN that is part of the Level 3 qualification, if you have not already done so.
