I added a wheel to the gate. This causes a gap because the wheel contacts the post at the bottom.
I guess I’ll have to attach a block to the post and heed your advice!

When I was a member of a club that had access to private property along with 5 or 6 other clubs the gate had a box with levers and a place for your clubs lock. Unlock your lock, flip your individual lever to open the gate while all the other locks remained locked on their levers. I don’t know the mechanics of it but something to ponder.

I’ve been staring at that photo for a while now.
Seems like all six locks would need to be removed in order to open it.
If anyone can explain it I’m all ears…

Imagine the inner rod of smaller diameter ( that fits into the slot in the upright post ) being welded to the last lock position, (far left) while the first lock position is welded to the outer pipe (far right). The lock plates are daisy chained together like links in a chain (each lock plate overlaps with the one behind it). If any lock is removed, it can separate freely from the rest and that lock location, as well as all those to the left of it, slide freely along the slot cut in the outer pipe, allowing the bolt to be drawn back.

All of us want to bring new people into the fold of the CCW community and it’s always good when more experienced members of the community are able to give of their time to help those new to CCW.
In the end, We will all benefit from having a larger, properly trained CCW community…politically and safety wise.

The man who taught me had simply befriended a 21 year old working nights at 7-11, and offered to teach me if I was willing to learn. Later on, when I said I had no way to pay him for all resources and materials, he said the following.,
Someone did for me.
Now I’m doing for you.
And some day you will do for someone else.
My debt to him was to be repaid to someone else when the time came.
Interestingly, the education I got from him stood the test of time, and never let me down, even in the presence of professionals. Everyone should be so lucky, as I was, to be the recipient of skilled mentor passing their knowledge on. It was a gift that has lasted a lifetime.

Generally I think Paul has a wealth of information but on several occasions I’ve watched him re-holster a handgun and flag his support hand with a muzzle, Something an experience/ trained shooter should be way beyond doing

Which is why I try to train with a shooting partner or at least a trained observer. If you are able to video your training sessions and play them back 1/2 time that is priceless.

You are exactly correct. Many times people assume their body is doing something when in actuality it is not and a video is a perfect training tool to remedy that

Lots of folks think they know what they are doing or think their gun handling is top notch, even as they point a loaded gun directly at you while showing it off.
One of the worst things about the anti-gun stigmas they try so hard to re-enforce is that it keeps new gun owners from seeking out good training and makes good training that much harder to make available.
