As a white guy, responding to the issues

Watch “Police. Protesters. People: Jocko Willink” on YouTube

I’ve said this over and over the English did this to delineate expatriates from every one else hence the something before your American I’m 100% American
I happen to be considered black. My culture is pan African we were here before slavery but looked like the slaves so it’s hard to tell who we were from them the dna proves it though. We are all African! But my country is America divide and conquer is how this nation will fall a nation divided is one ripe for destruction I want to put an end to the name debacle I am American I identify for now on as American or other !

I wonder what Jocko Willink would say about “person like you” who is marching to torch his house. Would he come out with gifts and embrace the mob?

Hello Zavier_D, thanks for your story! If you were attacked by the police and put in the hospital that was unconstitutional. The police doesn’t have the right to play judge and jury. They have a role to protect and serve. A lot of people don’t like to talk about history in America, and this is why we’re experiencing what we see today. It’s way bigger then burning down some buildings and taking some property.
It’s called (oppression) this country was built on the backs of slaves while whites got rich and did not have to pay for labor. So if you haven’t walked in the shoes of the (oppressed) then it’s easy to place blame on social media. Lets be clear there is a difference between poor and (oppression) I have heard little black kids say “they would rather be poor and white then to be black and treated like an animal will being black.” That’s a powerful statement! I don’t agree with burning buildings and looting, but the facts are if no life is lost then CVS, Target, and Wendy’s will get a insurance check rebuild or just cash out.

People forget the fact that there have been multiple lives taken that should have went to jail and faced a judge or their peers in a form of what we call a jury. Zavier at lease you’re alive to tell your story stop and Marinate on that please. There are a countless number of blacks that can’t tell their stories counting back to slavery. Thanks!

@Jerry70 Since you want to point your finger at a white person, start with me. I am privileged to have had a conversation with an actual slave. Yes, my friend, a living person, who was enslaved and forced to construct roads and building under the gun and whip for years, and once the job was done, the slaver planned to dispose of her life. This was my Grandmother, a white woman. Would you like to trade places with her, and witness your own mother’s murder? Would you like to throw your own little child in complete stranger’s hands while you are being death matched to a place where there is no law, no police, no judge at all? “Would rather be poor and white…” That’s an ignorant statement!

Since you seem to be an open minded person, I’d like you to realize that not all white people are the same, and stereotyping people by color of their skin is the hallmark of racism and bigotry. How many people in this country saw or carry family memories of slavery and atrocities in WW2? Bosnia genocide?

Where does the insurance check come from? Do you believe the rich insurance Man prints his own money? It is the working guy who drives the car, who lives in a house, who pays the premium, this working guy will have to pay for the repairs. I’d rather use the money for my kids’ education, if you don’t mind, and I’d rather not be blocked by protests from getting to work on time, so I can keep my job and feed my family.
People who don’t understand what they are doing and who they are hurting - whatever they are protesting - I am against it!

Obviously, you have no clue with what is transpiring. The black extremist group known as BLM is terrorizing white people, telling us to kneel before them! They are manipulating the police…unbelievable the police are falling for this sh*+. As a white guy, don’t apologize. Black people today are far from oppression. Don’t fall for the white privileged crap. Be an American and stand up for yourself.

I agree they shouldn’t destroy things that actually help their communities that being said, the burden of the brutalized is not to comfort the bystander and can I correct some folks here if there is a derogatory word for you you are not white. Your ancestors petitioned the congress of the US to recognize your people as white not that you are just by law you became white where you wasn’t before. If you stand by for years watching people brutalize and sow fear miseducate and poison a people are you any better than the people commiting the acts, hands get dirty all the same

A lot of blm drivel being printed here today. Me thinks we have been infiltrated by trolls, come to sow discord in our community.

Do you understand what you said? I am sorry, I don’t.
If I get chased by people because my face, I can just show them the “petition to Congress”, and I wont get beat up. Neat trick, thanks.

I am worse than that. I never took drugs off the hands of one single person. I never grabbed a kid by his collar to take him from gang to school. I never superglued a man to a woman pregnant by him, whom he wants to abandon. I apologize for my sins, OK?
Choices man, personal choices, freedom of will. Got to take responsibility for your own choices, instead of accusing people you never even met, don’t even know, and demand they stand with you, or else you gonna burn their neigthborhood… Not going to go far with that, believe me. The are legitimate gripes and legitimate scars, and they deserve attention and sympathy. But keep endangering everyone, keep trashing cities, keep looting -that sympathy is not going to last. What then, more accusations?

The respectful conversation here has started to spiral so I’m closing this topic. This is a very heated topic and as we know conversations over text can add a level of misunderstanding or frustration that isn’t there when we have these conversations in person.

I encourage everyone to continue to have important conversations in a respectful manner. We can learn from everyone if we have respectful conversations.
