Armed Car Owner Shoots Two 13-Year-Olds During Attempted Car Theft in Philadelphia

But, they were just innocent teenagers out trying to have some fun, when the evil homeowner started shooting at them. Can’t a child have fun without worrying that they might get shot at? Oh the shame!
It’s all fun and games until someone gets shot at.
On the serious side, this homeowner will suffer serious legal consequences for defending himself and his property. Philly is a looney liberal meca isn’t it?

Ya know you keep writing like that Geno and the ‘Philly Herald’ is going to offer you a job! 'Guns BAD! (13 yr.old Clarinet playing Junior high thug GOOD!)
I think the Car owner should be given MANDATORY SHOOTING LESSONS
so when this happens again (and it will, it’s Philly after all!) he can bag them all—(7 rounds fired only (2) wounded!)
Sir you can do better than that!— Now THAT’S how it’s done! (sarc)

It would be interesting to see what civil charges this homeowner faces, and their outcome. We probably won’t ever know unfortunately.

Bu Bu But he came out and confronted them, Why didn’t he retreat into his bedroom and snuggle up under his silk blanky and call the police to report a justified crime being committed by members of an oppressed underserved community.

This is the key piece, if true: " during the confrontation, one of the teenagers pulled a firearm. In response, the vehicle owner, a lawful gun owner with a concealed carry permit, fired at least seven shots, striking two of the suspects."

Lethal force to defend property (your car, not your home or not inside your home) is not justified, but since they pulled a gun on him, he used lethal force to defend himself. Having a carry permit is meaningless IMHO since he was at his home and also open carry is technically legal in PA (if you want to be hassled constantly).

moral of the story: don’t pull a gun on someone.

13-year-olds with a gun trying to steal a car and they get shot. Sounds like out-of-control children, children. More laws, lawsuits and cops can’t fix this.

Good shoot is a good shoot
I don’t care how old the assailant is and what are his grades at school. Once he points the gun he gets the same response.

The valued lesson from that story - you confront to defend your property and you pull the firearm to defend yourself, once the gun was pulled on you.

I like the way this story ended.

7 shots and 2 wounded
thats better than i would expect for the average gun owner. Unless former military with combat experience, a cop, etc, very few can handle pressure with a firearm.

Unfortunately it takes experience, mentally, that i hope no one gets but its needed. You can shoot paper all day long but when sh!t hits the fan, you dont know how you will react

Whaaaaat???

You mean i can’t fix this by getting off my ass and running for office?!???

Are you suggesting that maybe actually parenting might be a solution?

The government would LOVE to raise your kids, even more than they already do in the public school systems around the country.

This is exactly what they (liberal justice system) will use against him

The district attorney should require the lawful gun owner with a concealed carry permit to attend 4 hours every Saturday for two months of community service at his gun range of choice discharging a minimum of 50 rounds at a target, under low-light conditions with a state financed firearms instructor on how to properly discharge and hit moving targets. I believe DOGE will see that this will save the taxpayers considerable amounts having to avoid trials with court appointed attorneys.

@Joel106 touched a good aspect of the situation:

Couldn’t it be better? With practice you probably can do 3 wounded (stopped threats) with 7 shots.
Any good Instructor always says: “Visualize and practice any possible scenario that you can find yourself in”. Once you start doing this you will see your body and mind start acting automatically, your reacting time is shorter and everything becomes easier to do.

2: :victory_hand:

Frequent practice is the answer. Classes with movements and different scenarios. Stationary shooting in the line is good to check your tools, gear or ammo. It doesn’t bring any more skills you already have. If you know how to shoot accurately standing in front of he paper or steel - start moving. Otherwise you will only know how to react to a single assailant 5, 7 or 10 yards in front of you.

I agree. Mobile can be the key. Get out of the assailant " tunnel vision"
