I know you have good intentions.
Pride is not a virtue. Doing everything one can is a virtue. Once one stops to look back and is proud, they have stopped doing better. Just my take. Keep on keeping on.

Pride is a weakness. The reason pride is a sin is because it elevates one person above another. First of all, nobody is more important or significant than another. We are all in this life together and are supposed to be loving and helping each other in getting through it. Pride results in that person thinking that they are somehow entitled to more than those that are lesser than they.

Pride hinders the ability to learn truth. When there is pride there is a perception of an esteemed image in the eyes of others that must be upheld. But what if they are wrong in a belief? If they acknowledge the incorrect belief then it may damage that esteemed image in the eyes of others. If that happens then maybe they won’t be worthy to be believed in other things that they say. Because of that fear they will resist the truth and even go so far as to fight against it. That results in being an outright fool due to pride.

Pride is more like to hurt others than help them. Those that are different from some sort of deformity or oddity experience taunting, teasing, and abuse by those that are more perfect. That is pride on the part of the “flawless” ones. If they viewed their selves as an equal with those that have flaws then they wouldn’t misbehave because over it.

Pride is never known to serve any useful purpose. It only serves to bolster those that think they are more significant than others for some foolish reason.
