For those of us who bought a AR15 pistol, such as the Springfield Saint Victor 5.56, are they currently legal under the ATF rules? Will they be banned?

As to your question it is a question right now being litigated and argued at lower levels. The jury is not out yet. Will they be banned? Under the Biden administration most definitely.

Too add to what @Craig6 mentioned. I believe its specific firearms and braces at this point. Not part of a general ban. Obviously that’s where it will go in the long run

From what I’ve been hearing/reading, only a couple of braces have officially been reviewed and approved (SB15 being one of them), so the rest are in limbo.
Doesn’t mean the ruling on those previously approved will not be reversed.

I measured it from the trigger to the end of the brace, and it’s less than 13.5 inches when extended. Read somewhere that if it’s less than 13.5 inches, it’s within the ATF guidelines.
That measurement is for the length of pull (LOP) overall length needs to be less that 26 inches with and the LOP measurement needs to be less than 13.5
There is a world of grey area an opinions in the AR pistol world. But there is also great content online with very easy to understand instructions on what is legal and what is not
@VIRGIL4 your LOP will not matter if the brace itself does not have an ATFE approval letter or stamp which is what the whole debate is about. I have letters for Shockwave and Shockwave 2.0 as well as letters for the SB15 but there is no letter for the SB3/4 etc. as the company A$$umed that if one then all the others of essentially same design. I don’t like the Shockwave series but to keep it legal it’s on now and my SB3 is on a rifle which of course you can put anything on.

Remember if kids are thrown out of school for gun shaped cookies, nerf guns and the almighty and deadly, finger gun, then you can be sure anything we own that works, will be banned. Welcome to the real world, Neo! (always wanted to say that) We are living in the matrix, I’m just hoping for a glitch!
We do try to have logical, spirited and knowledgeable moments, but since the world turned upside down I have to throw in a little wackiness at times. So just blow off the Neo thing and pray the ATF is not having a seizure, no pun intended!
