AR15 bolt catch position

Hello,
This is a technical question for all our AR15 gurus:

What is a proper position of the BCG when the bolt is locked to the rear?
Should the bolt catch keep the bolt or BCG?

The proper position of the BCG, Bolt Carrier Group, when the bolt is locked to the rear is critical for the weapons operation. When the bolt is locked, the BCG needs to be positioned to allow the bolt to catch the bolt keeping it from retracting into the carrier. The BCG needs to retract fully to the rear to function correctly, and it should not retract into the carrier unless the BCG is in the forward position. It should lock back when the magazine is empty.

The bolt, as in your figure 1.

I had a problem similar, but not as extreme as your figure 2. This is what fixed mine:

Thank you guys. Both of you ! :handshake:

I’m wondering, if the fact that the lever can catch bolt and BCG is normal or is it something wrong with rifle configuration?

Rifle runs OK and I found out that when I use charging handle, sometimes it catches BCG, not the bold… but I’m guessing it is my mistake, not rifle’s issue.

I’m still new to this platform, trying to understand everything and be proficient with it.
It is not super important for me, not my rifle, not my problem.. but definitely I’d like to operate it correctly.
