Went out for my birthday yesterday and before we left the house I strapped up. Then I thought what would my family do IF there was a need for me to draw and defend my family.
I began talking to them and they said; dad we know you carry why are you talking about this now? I said because If I had to draw and shoot I want us all on the same page. Good thing we talked too; my son said if I see you draw I’m grabbing mom and running out the back door. I told him Don’t do that because you will draw attention to us. Dive under the table instead, don’t scream out dad what are you doing or try to stop me. I will only have 2 seconds tops and I don’t need to be distracted or have the robber(s)’s attention drawn to us. I said if I go down, grab the gun and defend yourselves.
I’ve been trying to get my son to come out and shoot with me. So far no luck.

My son told me papaw taught me how to shoot, I think I’m good. He then said I’m not very interested in guns and shooting. I’m working on building a better relationship with him and didn’t want to push it. Hopefully he will realize what I’m offering him for free and he doesn’t lose the opportunity one way or the other.
