How many women has he done this to and how many will he do this to if he is not stopped? Unfortunately NYC protects him not the victim. 2nd not many people in NYC can legally carry. If I was forced to live there I would be carrying a good old fashioned walking stick and wearing a stick pin.

I can de-escalate even if I have to shoot you. If I couldn’t it becomes revenge if I went after you unless it was imminent that you were going to come after me again. As far as I know revenge is illegal and In my mind immoral.
As far as I am concerned is the difference between the good guys and the bad guys is the good guys have discipline.
Do you seriously think that lady could have “de-escalated” the guy that blind side punched her in the face? The de-escalation concept is certainly preferable but reality dictates that in many cases, this on for example, it just won’t work.

The guy that blind sided her de-escalated himself when he stopped the attack. I don’t see what else can be legally done but send him to jail. If someone shoots him they will be charged with murder. Unless he becomes a lethal threat again.
I guess the way to prevent this from happening is to not be oblivious to them happening. Conditions yellow

That is my understanding also. But an assumption of a non-threat could get you killed. We don’t know and can’t predict what a crazy person will do. Even if a person is in pain but has the ability to restrain him/herself it is prudent to do so. Moving quickly away (sidestep, back-step, etc.) and readying yourself to draw and shoot would seem to be the best move under the circumstances. If the perp moves on you again - then the threat is real.

That is exactly right. It is difficult for me to believe the laby in the in the video did not suspect something and chose to ignore it.

I am not blaming the lady. I am blaming the lack of situational awareness. Maybe she didn’t know. I think situational awareness plays a big part of crime prevention. One can’t confirm it because the crime never happened.
