The assailant, who had a history of anti-Israel and anti-America ranting, charged across the street, attacking a CCL holder, knocking the victim down, banging his head against the pavement and trying to choke him. The victim shot his attacker in the abdomen. Police have charged the victim, not the attacker.

I think we saw different videos. The one I saw showed three men wrestling with one and stepping on his head. It didn’t show any injuries.
I don’t have to wait to be injures to defend myself from a violent attacker, that ran across a road, to tackle me to the ground, to bust my head on the concrete…

He got shot once and then his intended victim rendered first aid. The intended victim is the only one charged with a crime, for now.

I am saying as a responsible armed American and person who respects the sanctity of life I would not have used lethal force unless lethal force was used against me. I saw a brawl not someone trying to murder someone else, when someone else posted the video.

Which light, yours or reality? Sometimes you are funny, other times you appear a bit naive, but based on your assumed age, over 12, naiveté is not likely. You seem to believe too much in “everyone is good” or some such nonsense. Even I, an non-religious person, can see that there is evil in the world, though I do not ascribe it to the supernatural, but just a description of the worst of human behavior.

I don’t know why it won’t let you watch the video. You can copy and paste the link into your browser. I disagree with your stance that you should only use lethal force against lethal force. I’m not taking a beating from a crazed Israel-hater (or anyone else), just to protect him. Besides, the victim took one shot, then stopped when the threat ended. I doubt he’ll be convicted of anything, unless he plea bargains to a misdemeanor. I think charges will be dropped, however.
