the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) reported that “approximately 26.2 million law-abiding Americans, from all different races, genders, backgrounds, religions and ethnicities, went to their local firearm retailer and bought a gun for the first time between 2020 and today.” The trade group added, "the surge of new first-time buyers has made the gun-owning community the most diverse population of gun owners ever. That’s a good thing—as the Second Amendment is for everyone."
Bought my first one in January of 2021.
FJB is the best gun salesman of all time
Getting training afterwards is even better!
Nothing worse than buying something you do not know how to use properly. Read the instructions, Take a class. Get training. That is what the USCCA is for.
( Training is essential for a responsible gun owner!)
Or shooting someone that hurt your feelings/that you disagree with. (Charlie Kirk)
Spanberger a close second in VA, from what I’ve been reading.
Based on the gun show this weekend, she is better. There were two very long lines when it opened on Saturday morning with only a few of short gaps of time without any lines. VCDL’s memship has increased quite a bit since she got elected. This weekend’s gun show was also great for membership, I believe the best ever, and we had a huge surge when Northam was elected, too.
I’d say part of the reason there are more people carrying is that we CAN get a CCW now, as with other states that previously couldn’t.
Living in California near big cities meant we couldn’t get a CCW. When the Supreme Court ruled against New York’s ban on people being able to get a carry permit, it carried across the country. I was able to get mine (at great cost of $1200 with psych tests, range training - 8 hours, etc.) in 9 months just so I could say “screw you Calif.”, and have only carried twice in nearly three years, and that was in the mountains.
