How close is he to your closed window. Can you push the door open hard enough to hit his gun and distract him and un-holster your gun really quick. At this point you are in a situation according to the scenario that DPF (deadly physical force) could be imminent. “Cross-traffic is heavy, and there is traffic behind me, so running is not an option.” You have to take care of business because you are ambushed. You have the right to defend yourself. Since I am right handed it would be easier for me to get to my weapon without him seeing me. the chances of that bullet hitting you if he fires is 50%. If it were me I would be prepared to fight for life. Maybe take a chance of stepping out and hopefully he hopefully doesn’t notice your firearm.

There are no perfect scenarios.
On the other hand I heard once that a guy let his wife run into a convenience store while he waited in the car and a guy entered the passengers side with a knife. The benefit of the guy being a lefty allowed the guy to deflect the knife with his right hand and draw as a lefty and the bad guy ran off, no shots were fired. Also as mentioned above you should be able to lean right and draw. Also you need to practice weak hand shooting.
