A shout out to Sig Sauer

My Sig P322 gave out the other week. It has been twice back to the factory, I always had feeding issues with it. This time Sig said it was worn out with use and would not be covered under warranty The cost of repair would be more than a new gun. S**t and a few other choice words. I said send it back at least I could get $100 from a gun back program. I did a estimate how many rounds it went through it during the 23 months I owned it and it came in about 28,000 rounds, I also own a Sig P365 and a Ruger 10/22 that been more used and they only needed new recoil springs and one trigger spring. The gun came back yesterday and they did a “one time courtesy” repair! The slide, breech lock, recoil spring, barrel and magazine were replaced, I called Sig and said thank-you very much! Tried it out right away and went through 80 rounds with no misfeeds so it works better then I first brought it! Would I recommend A Sig to someone else-Yes. Would I by another Sig-it would have to catch my fancy.

When companies do things like that, it creates brand loyalty. They might lose up front on you but are counting on return business. I know they would have earned it from me doing so.

Good to hear your P322 is back in shape and working.

Yeah, Sig updated my P320 with a one week turn around time, I couldn’t believe it. I asked if they wanted me to clean it before I sent it in? They responded by saying "Thanks for offering to clean it but no, we get military guns in here caked with sand or mud all the time. Its no problem. "They are a great company!

If I have a negative experience and am willing to publicly complain about it. I am just as willing to compliment them it’s why I have the same Cell Phone carrier for well over 20+ years. I use Verizon because of the Store (franchisee) near me. I had a $900 discrepancy happen. I got about half of my money back from Google, was still pretty pissed. But the Franchisee Verizon stepped in and made the rest up. They could have said no. But they made my loss whole and because of that I have stayed with them and I am positive they have made way more than that one time payout to me.

I took my wife to the gun store years ago. She came home with an Sig P232. Nice little .380. I carried it for years but it was her gun.

I probably wouldn’t buy another one simply because it’s a .380. But it’s been a great shooter. I’ve never had an issue with it. In fact, I should take it to the range again soon.

Glad to hear sig stands behind their stuff!!

I feel that any gun company should fix or replace or even rebuild any of their guns for any reason no matter how old it is or anything else as long as parts are still available for it.

A gun is like a car. When the cost of repair is more then a new one it’s time to replace it. Maybe the manufactures should state how many rounds is the gun rated for since it’s a “limited” lifetime warrenty.

You must own an ammunition company. I’d love to shoot that much but I have to keep some of my money for food and whiskey.

Man, that’s a lotta rounds downrange! I’m glad to see that are still a few companies out there doing the right thing.

Man I’ve had CZ-52s that were made prolly in the 50s with untold rounds shot thru them and I’m talking about the little bottleneck cartridge a 7.62 x25 or something and they would feed and fire non stop. Me personally if I had or ever “ shot out” a gun to where it was so wore out it wouldn’t work anymore that would be the last gun I would buy of that particular brand. Now I’ve seen a many a shot-out barell but not a gun that was just so worn out it wouldn’t work and I’ve got like 65 guns now ( didn’t wanna say that really) and cleared out stock a few yrs back wich of course was a mistake but I never had or saw one so wore out it wouldn’t work and we started off with the old military surplus stuff like back when the Moison Nagant 91-30s with original Russian scopes on them all original sniper ones for a whopping $ 250! and we were like “ Man that’s high for that!” Lol . $75 Norinco SKSs came with 500 rds of Wolf Ammo and I’m so glad I kept thebest one I had and I wouldn’t trade it for a farm in Georgia and it’s basically brand new. M-38 & M-44s @ $ 75 some factory refurbished, British SMLEs .303 ( short magazine Lee Enfield) @ $ 100 , I have to stop or I’ll start wearing like a baby lol! I was just at my sons a cpl hrs ago and he had a 14” barrel Benelux M-4 12 ga. Had to get the tax stamp for like his supressor and he’s already got the Benelux M-4 12 gage regular length they both cost a cpl grand each. His .308 SCAR cost a grip also but when it comes to good stuff he’ll get it.

That was 28,000 rounds in 23 months-almost 2 years. I began shooting 5 years ago, Went from 1 gun to 11. Since I am retired I have lots of spare time on my hands, I joined the membership club at 5 Star in Zion, Il. for $65/month unlimited range time. So I go 4-5 times a week for about an hour. Normally I shoot 40-80 rounds with my Sig P322, I shoot 10 rounds through my Sig 365 per day. With my Ruger 10/22 I shoot 25-50 rounds per day. My JRC 9mm carbine I shoot twice a week 15 rounds per session. Yes the ammo adds up but it beats being in a bar all day.

Man if J could shoot that much I’d be the state champion because I’ve just got a knac for it. When I was in my teens Id shoot handguns at 2 lb bags of flour at 100 yds. Why bags of flour? Well you know when you hit them for sure plusI was working at a Martha White flour Mill lol

This stupid phone seems to try premeditate what I’m trying to say and I just saw that “ Benelielux” crap and I don’t know where that crap came from or what it even is but what I thought I typed was “ Benelli” if that’s how it’s spelled but IDK where the lux crap came from, these phones are Handi but you can sure feel like throwing them again the wall sometimes and I have with the androids. Just wanted to clear that up.

I am by no way a marksman but I am better then when I started. Pretty decent with my long guns not too bad with my Sig p322. In fact I am trying to shoot one handed at 50 feet this week. 2 shots in the circle 6 on the paper 14 who knows where!

My favorite/best memory at the range was the first time I shot in bootcamp. I’m 5’11", weigh 132 pounds soaking wet, my normal weight was 150 ish pounds (combination of stress and high metabolism had me losing weight) with a 28" waist. I, literally look like an anatomical model gone horribly wrong. The medical officer had put me on a 4,000+ calorie diet because I had a dangerously low body fat level. But no one realizes that it’s all just sinew, muscle, and bone because I’m a long distance runner. I used to run 13 miles a day for fun.

So anyway we are at the range and one of my Company Commanders is going down the range, gets to me, and notices all of my targets have 7 of 7 in the bullseye for my .45 He makes a snarky comment about how the boot on either side of me can’t tell what target to shoot at. He makes everyone step back and tells me to do it again. So I step up and put all 7 of 7 center bullseye. 50 rounds in I still haven’t missed any I honestly think he is pissed at me but my pride is up now because he has made some pretty :poop: insinuating comments. So he PT’s the :poop: out of me and has me shoot again. Long story, short I left training with my expert marksman (pistol). However, morale of the story. Don’t draw your Company Commanders attention because he realized just how fit I was and he ground me up physically by making me pt with extra weight rather than endurance. He kicked my ass, but he is a big reason I turned my life around and I am a better man because of him… He was the Navy’s first Photographer’s Mate to become a Navy Seal. If you ever see mid 70’s to early 80’s Seal training footage for the Seals, he probably shot it. I still talk to him every few months. 40 odd years now.

Weird flex, I know.
