I have a suggestion contrary to the death sentence. I think my suggestion is both on the side of mercy, and is going to make people avoid prison, and while in prison – learn something valuable.
How about making the inmates do work? Let them work to grow own food, or let them earn money to buy food, to the extent it is possible to do so in prison. Don’t want to? Then be on basic diet, enjoy rice and beans, like many poor honest families do.
I think jail and prison is already that way for a great deal of criminals.
In fact, I think some people commit even more violent crimes precisely because “I’m not going back”, which they might literally say as they are killing the people who might report or arrest them and take them back.
I’ve never made it to the big house but I have (in my younger days) spent some months in some City & County jails. This is what I learned
It filthy, boring & scary in there.
95% of the people in there are innocent
95% of the people in there will be rich when they get done suing the jail
95% of the people in there do not tell the truth very often
95% of the people in there say their girl friend is faithfully waiting for them
95% of the people in there are the Baddest MoFo on earth
Who puts these judges on the bench? We vote for our judges on all levels except the Supreme Court. Do a little research and vote with your conscience.
A person can’t help it if he gets ill. It should be up to the Senate leaders to decide if the Senator should continue his duties.
I have no respect for anyone who shows disrespect for our flag. The team leaders and coaches should take action in this matter. Anyone who doesn’t respect the flag of the country he is representing should be removed from the team.
A person has the right to live their life in the manner they wish as long as it doesn’t infringe on the rights of another.
The homeless are a problem in that many of them have mental and emotional problems and many refuse to accept free housing. This is another area that the politicians should concentrate on solving . Far more important than wether a football team should stay in the city or leave it. By the way, many of these homeless people are veterans of the U. S. armed forces. It boggles my mind that we can ask the youngest and best of our nation to risk their lives to defend it from our enemies and then treat them so poorly and show them so little respect upon their return.
theft is theft no matter what the reason or excuse is given for committing the theft.
#1 - On shore wars means we are fighting in our own country. I would rather fight in someone else’s country or not at all. Did someone make a statement regarding this? We usually fight to protect our own interests or to support an ally. Congress and the Senate are the deciding factors in who and when we fight. We can control that with our vote. Everyone should look at elections as an opportunity to mold our government into the shape it was meant. If it doesn’t fit the mold throw it out. We, as voters, have this responsibility. Start looking at the elections with this in mind and not considering it a burden.
I agree with you this country is not the country we grew up in. When I was young if you killed someone you got shot or the electric chair. Now you get a collage education and get out on good behaver.
Let me try this again, as far as a civil society goes we can blane ourselves. Who else not just allows strangers and drug dealing criminals invade their country but pays them to do it with the citizens tax money? Who else fights a world war that coust us countless treasures and lives then rebuilds and befriends our enemies? To much to list here but the next time like when someone spills hot coffee on themselves from a container that says " CAUTION HOT" and becomes a instant millionaire and we chuckle and say " whats next" well look around you, we’re living it
I have alway considered the warning label on most chainsaws interesting “DO NOT ATTEMPT TO STOP CHAIN WITH HAND”! Yeah that’s something only a genius would do!
I AGREE with almost EVERYTHING you just wrote…um (4) days ago.
Except this: “We can control that with our vote. Everyone should look at elections as an opportunity to mold our government into the shape it was meant. If it doesn’t fit the mold throw it out. We, as voters, have this responsibility. Start looking at the elections with this in mind and not considering it a burden”.
That in the past is an excellent statement, Valid, Worthy of applause! Honorable, AMERICAN.
Sadly, that won’t happen today (and w/the current totally corrupted administration and the current world of megalomaniacs trying to over throw the world. Voting has been bought and paid for to the highest bidder (and sadly once again WE AIN’T IT!) There is a problem today that many, many citizens fail to address, admit or acknowledge THE SYSTEM IS BROKEN! Not just Voting either. These gag, choke, puke politicians are a bunch of worthless, corrupt, senile, self serving bunch of hypocrites!
THEY WERE INITIALLY MEANT TO SERVE US! they fail daily. They serve themselves…always. Back room deals, Lobbying , PAY THEMSELVE FIRST, crumbs to the dronesmasses.
We LOST the Civil Society long ago and the people FEEL this! Most just don’t care anymore. that is why there are so many homeless now, drug addiction, open borders (Invaders are us.gov!) outrageous Laws and psycho restrictions placed on us daily! Rules for thee and not for me. No wonder Dem. cities are a mess. When you CRUSH Civility! you CRUSH the SOUL! A lot of people just don’t give a sh-- anymore, why bother! My vote means NOTHING.
But it doesn’t HAVE to be this way. It is what it is because maybe we haven’t eaten enough SH-- Sandwiches yet?
WHAT IS ENOUGH?
WHERE IS OUR LINE IN THE SAND?
WHAT DOES THIS .gov HAVE TO DO FOR US TO SAY, ALRIGHT! EVERYBODY OUTTA THE POOL!
i don’t know about you folks, Well some of you I do (and I am grateful to be you BROTHER)
but (for me) I have had more than enough. I will fight the good fight until my death ONLY when it comes to my door. My Family/Friends. My route home to my safety net and guns. But I will NEVER EVER fight for this .gov again. I am too tired, fed up, disenchanted w/ the ridiculousness of this current corrupted regime to give a damn anymore. You intrude in my world, cross MY line in the sand, Infringe on my rights (trying to take my guns for instance) and I WILL END YOU. I have zero problem with that.
My one regret is I didn’t die with my Combat Brothers when they did jus so I could live to see this country being flushed down the drain by it’s own people. WE DIDN’T SIGN UP FOR THIS!
This current situation is being shoved down our throats!
Civil Society BAH! I’d be content with Just “LEAVE ME THE HELL ALONE!”
When I watch a WW2 movie or documentary, I feel immense sadness and anger for how those men must feel. THIS is not what they fought for.
Every day for the rest of my life, I must feel the pain of my humble service to our Republic. I often despair and sometimes regret that I ever wore the uniform.
I usually get over that. At the end of the day, one really ends up fighting for those to the right and left of you. Thinking of that fact helps.
This Republic will only recover when it’s collapse is almost complete. Then, and only then, will honor and truth and those who love freedom do what must be done.
I do hope America survives the storm that is coming.
Unfortunately, there is truth in what you say. One after another we see our leaders facing ethical and criminal charges and being accused of misuse of their authority. We cry and moan about the climate (industry greed), politicians (lining their pockets), abuse of authority and neglect of duty (frustration and greed), loss of family values (poor upbringing and too much self interest), criminal activities and violence in our communities (lack of discipline and parental direction). We, who care, must take up the responsibility of holding our leaders to their responsibility. We are the ones who put these people in office. We must see that thy maintain the promises they made when running for office. I still believe that the voice of the people is a powerful instrument and should be used. We are lacking the noise it takes to be heard. What else do we have? Some say, “I’ll leave this country”. And where will you go. With all it’s faults, it is still a better place to be. We need to regain our national identity. I am all for accepting “the poor, the helpless, the huddled masses longing to be free”, but it not for us to adjust to their values, it is up to them to accept ours. Times change, values change, laws change. We adjust to the times, but, we are still who we are. We are the United States of America. Our values are built on the values of our founders. We have slipped in some ways, but we have, or are trying to correct those errors. Maybe we will make the right corrections or maybe we will not. The important thing is that we try and that we keep reminding the leaders of our country that they work for us. There I go again, up on my soap box. I am not a politically astute person, my IQ is average, I am not a leader of men. I am just a person who believes in my God and my country. I love my family and, like everyone else, I am frustrated with lack of order we have in our country. I am sad that the two major political parties in our country cannot agree, or at least compromise, on the major issues facing us. It saddens me that so many young people, the future of this country are dying on our streets through the violence caused by lack of control, discipline and greed. We are, arguably, the richest country in the world, yet we have people living in cardboard boxes, under viaducts, and we have people who can’t afford medical care and are starving. We have global warming, yes we do, which will eventually melt our icecaps causing drastic climate changes. My God, why can’t they see, get off the ego they are riding and listen to their constituents. Hear their needs, do your job. Sorry, I protest too much. Peace out, God bless you all, Spider 1.
It is one of the only FACTS that help Brother. My brothers were the REAL DEAL (for me), No better bunch ever took the OATH. It was what banded us together for life. God in his Infinite wisdom put us together for a reason. I knew some of us would die, I never expected so many of them to die. One of the Blessings was that they didn’t live long enough to see their ultimate sacrifice be made for the likes of these empty suits.
