Mindset- If you don’t have the right mindset the rest doesn’t matter.

Situational Awareness-Will keep you out of unnecessary situations and allow you to succeed if you do.

Understanding-Understand the laws, when you can, when you should, when you shouldn’t and when to avoid at all costs.

Competency-If you’re going to to act you’d better be competent in whatever you do.

Confidence-If you don’t meet all of the above you cannot act with confidence and going half assed into a potential or already armed conflict can get you killed or lead you to act in appropriately which may get you hurt/killed, get another innocent hurt/killed and or land you in prison for the rest of your life.

Last, always have a plan and leave yourself options if at all possible.
